LB, we moved vet appointment for tomorrow at 6pm. Few years ago I sown mint, but left little seedling on scorching sun, and lost them all. Seeds are so small and you need just sprinkle them on the soil, and just water, not cover them.Β
@rowlandscastle444, this is our Pittosporum, on the right side, you can just see some of it, your pics look the same Β as this ( as LB suggests)β¦.its quite a bit taller now but I prune it every year to keep the height down. It soon springs new shoots.Β
Thank you for your help, @Ladybird4 and @Songbird-2 My app was rather vague, and unhelpful. Your identifications are indeed, helping me make some decisions.Β π
It's been an odd day today. I have a poor sense of smell, so when my wife tells me she can smell gas, I trust her instincts (or should that be in-stinks). Today, she told me she could smell gas in the cupboard next to the oven, which contains a gas cut-off.Β So I called the emergency gas number, and they were with us within 20 minutes. The usual checks. The cut-off in the garage, cooker, hob burners, ancient boiler. Even the gas cut-off in the offending cupboard. No leak!!!! Oops! Had my wife's sense of smell let her down? Double oops!! The smell was . . . . . a mouldy onion!!! A relief, but embarrassing. We all had a laugh. On the bright side, we got all our gas appliances checked free of charge. Next time my wife will check for mouldy onions!!
After the gas people had left, I took a stroll, only to find the roads around us, chock with traffic. The reason? See the photos below. At least the driver had the courtesy not to park on the double yellow lines, or on the grass!
Always better to be safe than sorry @rowlandscastle444. I ( once )smelt gas in our old house when in the garage at one time ( metre was in garage). Called gas people who came straight out and found the pipe adjoining the metre box was loose and gas was escaping! Yikes, close shave.π¬ How on earth did that car end up in the tree?? Hope no one was hurt?Β
