Good morning Biglad, Debs and Busy.
@Biglad, we could form a percussion band as I was 'serenaded' by the rattling of my roof tiles in the early hours. Glad you have an empty bin now. I've been out in my garden and done a bit of tidying up. It was very cold on my hands though. I've filled my bird feeders getting ready for the Big Garden Bird Watch but decided to wait until tomorrow as the wind is making things difficult for the tiny feather dusters!
Debs I am sure your son's girlfriend will love you and remember that she will be as nervous about meeting you and your fiancé as you are about meeting her.
Busy, I was smiling reading about the new wardrobe. Clothes just expand to fill any available space!
SGL,  hope you get everything you need at the SM and that you have a lovely afternoon with your friend.

    Morning all.
Talking of expanding clothes, " stuff" just seems to expand all the time. I clear cupboards and then fill them up again, clear again and so the cycle goes on.Crazy.
Debs, relax and enjoy the time with son and girlfriend. She will have no problem feeling relaxed with you and fiancée, you will all be fine.
OH was kept awake last night with the wind again but I never heard it. Sun is out now but haven't been outside yet.
Feeling a little sick this morning so taking it easy. Wish I could curtail the brain from thoughts sometimes. SGL, you are doing so well but still very much in the early days. You  will miss OH so very much, I can only imagine what it must be like. Sending you lots of hugs.

Making a foray in to the forum, to wile away the time, given that I'm supposed to rest up. Chest infection has slowed me down, but I do need to ensure I'm well enough to make my hospital appointments next month. That of course, depends on whether or not there are NHS staff strikes!!

How do you all manage when appointment 6 depends on appointment 5 happening, which depends on appointment 4 happening, which in turn depend on appointments 3, 2 and 1 taking place?

    Grrr!!

But, I am alive, I'm in my own home, have a caring family, I'm not being bombed, shot at, starving, cold, or destitute.

So much to be thankful for. As a sign on a garden gate says nearby, says (not outside our house),

"A lovely old lady and a grumpy old man live here."

I must learn NOT to be the latter!! Thank you for keeping positive.🙂

@rowlandscastle444, totally agree with @Bluejayway🙂. Nice to see you again.  Sorry to hear about your chest infection. Our daughter had one a couple of weeks ago but the antibiotics have cleared it up. How are you settling in to your new home? Any promising bulbs popping up yet?

How beautiful Hazel! Thank you for sharing.
@rowlandscastle444 it is really good to see you. Sorry about the wretched chest infection. I do not know the answer to your conundrum but I've everything crossed here for you that all the appointments fall neatly into place. Also, as @Bluejayway said, we are all friends here.

with @Bluejayway🙂. Nice to see you again.  Sorry to hear about your chest infection. Our daughter had one a couple of weeks ago but the antibiotics have cleared it up. How are you settling in to your new home? Any promising bulbs popping up yet?
There is one small pot of bulbs of unknown type, left by the previous owner.
We left hundreds of bulbs in our old garden, including ones that came from the in-laws garden, and loads of tulips from the garden next door. When it was put up for rent, the mature garden was covered with decking, paving, and a poor attempt at creating a lawn.

I asked the workmen to try and remove the tulips whole, as they were still in flower. We gained loads that way.

I miss the crocuses, various daffodils, and huge burst of colour we would get every spring and summer.  I was just starting to enjoy the allium.

We brought various shrubs in pots, and most importantly, the agapanthus!!

Visitors last week brought blueberry and tayberry bushes - but also annoyingly, the chest infection!!

The new home is providing it's own challenges!! Wife won't let me up a ladder to install new curtain rails. We've had quotes, and wife doesn't like that either. We WILL pay someone though. Trying to get it fitted in around hospital appointments, gas engineer, plumber, etc, is tricky. Still, it's got to be done.

@rowlandscastle444, that does so remind me of when we we moved here. Everything had to be replaced but we got there, as will you and your OH. Just takes time. You'll be glad to have brought some plants/bulbs with you too when they begin to flower. Nice opportunity for buying new plants and bulbs this year too.🙂

There’s a lot of hard work when you move to a property that needs improvements but it’s worth it in the end 🙃 We’ve been in our current property ( a detached bungalow) for almost 18 months now and in that time we’ve had to replace two bathrooms, the kitchen, the boiler, the windows and external doors, the exterior paving and we’ve also managed to redesign a lot of the garden and add a summerhouse.  Some decorating is still to be tackled.  We are exhausted but loving it!  You’ll get there sooner than you think @rowlandscastle444 🤞
