Rubee, your last post wasn’t showing when I posted. Good to hear you finally got your parcel. Busy, the new paving stones sound good. Will your OH be laying hem or will you “ get a man in “ ? My OH laid a new paving path right across our lawn in the back garden last year and it looks so much better than the original pavers in other areas of the garden which are now worn and have that blackened look in places. Would love to get the patio and two other paths relaid with something new but the cost would be enormous. When we win the pools………..😊😉 I love delphiniums , we have one in a pot, a white one, and it’s glorious year after year.
Hello all, managed 45 minutes in the garden it was raining but not too heavy, pouring down now.
@Ladybird4 bus passes are free once I reach retirement age so another 7 years to wait, the only free thing I get now are prescriptions and I don’t have regular medication.
Thank you for the offers of help in identifying various plants. I may well be posting some odd photos. My niece is on a horticultural course, and has offered to assist - even said she'd ask her fellow students, and tutors!! My sister (bless her) has spent half an hour on the phone, giving me some guidance on the app. It's called Seek, by iNaturalist. I've now used it, but some of the answers are vague. My sister warned me about this. Still, I'm informed that I have Sweet Violets and Winter Daphne - both of which are in flower at present, which my sister says, helps the identification.
As for my meds, it's all controlled by the hospital neurologist. The meds in question I've been on for around 30 years, and I've tried so many, there's not many left to try.
I'm due to try one after my surgery, when it occurs, but not before. Most have resulted in a worsening of my condition, so I'm nervous about any changes.
I've tried many avenues to obtain the required meds, but there really is a shortage across Europe. All the pharmacies I've contacted have said no, and the hospital has prescribed an alternative, but my local pharmacies haven't got any.
What a dilemma to be in @rowlandscastle444 re your medication. The world is certainly in crisis at the moment, impacting daily lives on some level which one wouldn’t necessarily think they would. Fingers crossed something can be sorted for you. Must confess I have only used an Identify App once or twice, many years ago and it was pretty dire. Since then Impost on here where the garden knowledge from some folks is incredible. Debs, I’ve just spent half an hour or so in the garden, doing a little turning over of soil in a new area for flowers/plants etc and have planted yet another foxglove. It feels good to be ‘ doing ‘ outside. I see you’re a youngster yet, not quite reaching the age of 27😂😂😂.
This morning while I was doing a bit of gardening I found a beautiful pink hellebore just coming into flower .I don’t know where it came from . I haven’t had hellebore plants for decades . So pleased with it .
LB, nice work done yesterday with planting all your snowdrops. You see how is paying out now that you learned Latin at school. We also use word arbor with only one small addition, croatian word jarbol means the mast.
Rubee, what a lovely surprise. I also have some pink hellebores in my garden, but I know where they came from. 😂
Rowlan, hope that your problem with medication soon will be solve.
It was lovely and sunny day. Not very warm, but pleasant. I sown asparagus, leeks and mint. Then I had a short nap, because I was exhausted.
Thank you all. Here's a couple of photos of garden shrubs that are between the fence and concrete path. They are overhanging the path to the point of making it difficult to edge along. I intend to cut them back, but don't want to lose them if possible. They are about 7ft-8ft high, but it may be that if I prune them too hard at this time of year, I may kill them. Any ideas of any kind would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Hi Rowlan. I can tell you for euonymus on the third photo that it can survive severe cutting back. I have three bushes and they will only become more denser after trimming.
Top one looks like it could be the winter flowering honeysuckle Lonicera fragrantissima. It does look as if it has some flower buds on it.
Second and fifth look like Pittosporum (possibly Silver Queen)
Third looks like Euonymus fortuneii.
Fourth I am not too sure about. Those I my suggestions @rowlandscastle444
Ante, I love the way all languages can be interlinked. How did little cat go on at the Vets? I have never grown mint from seed Ante - only from cuttings so you will have to let me know how successful seed grown mint is.

So I wait!
