Morning all. Yes noticeably colder in the house today but there is sun! Most of my rooms have a south facing window so I’m hoping it will warm them through a bit.

I find Winter a big mood-zapper too. Think it’s the dark more than the cold for me.

Have a good day everyone - whether you battling cold, heat (Pat!), pain or others trials of life.

  • Morning all ,

I've landed safely in Alicante, my friend is still in the air, now 10 minutes late, bizarrely the arrivals board is saying "on time" - so obviously not! 😅

Can't wait to see her and get on with our jolies.

Good day all, 16° and sunny here, joy!

    Stay warm/cool and safe everyone.

Morning all, freezing but sunny here, thankfully a lot warmer inside the house.
Our early morning GP visit was a complete waste of time, GP took one look at OH's cyst, sucked his teeth, shook his head and didn't want to remove it in case it was infected.
Given OH antibiotics and told him to come back in 6 weeks time. What good is that?

Fortunately our local GC was near the surgery so we took ourselves there for a restorative coffee and flapjack. Then I bought a pair of half price wellies for my daughter, a lovely Burgon and Ball potato scoop thingy for OH (he's always wanted one) and a bargain at £10 reduced from £20. We also bought 6 assorted half price bags of compost whilst we were there. Did another two errands and then flopped when we got home. I'd got quite stressed driving right across the city in the rush hour traffic and get to the surgery on time. Not used to it any more.

Hope your appointment goes well @punkdoc.

16c and sunny sounds lovely right now @D0rdogne_Damsel, enjoy your visit.

49c is far too hot @Pat E, don't know how you cope with that.

    @coccinella, I'd abandon the acquagym!

Too hot for poor @Pat E - too cold for us!

But nice and bright outside today.  I have a Festival planning meeting this afternoon, so better gather my thoughts for that.

    Afternoon all.
The good news is that most of the bulbs I planted in the Autumn seem to have survived my gross ineptitude and are showing signs of life.  Nothing flowering of course, however entirely undeserved (but very pleasing) good fortune for me nonetheless.
Hope your Festival planning meeting goes well @didyw
    Have a wonderful time @D0rdogne_Damsel
Relax this afternoon @Lizzie27 , you have had a very busy morning.
Stay safe on your journey if you decide to go to the aquagym @coccinella
As usual - best wishes to all.

    Enjoy yourselves @D0rdogne_Damsel

It's snowing here, hardly settling though. It was -3 C in the night.

Son 2 rang. He wants to come and stay with us in Norfolk in May, the whole family, 5 little ones. Flying from Bergerac and renting a people carrier. We have 4 bedrooms, not big though, and spare mattresses. I hope we can fit them all in.

@Busy-Lizzie. I remember as a teenager going to Gibraltar and staying with a great uncle in a tiny two bedroom flat! Six children ranging from 4 to 14, plus parents, all bedded down in our sleeping bags in one room! Two to three bedrooms will be fine, it’ll be an adventure for them!

Thank you @Ergates, that's what I was hoping. We'd like to take them to Bressingham Gardens and the littles can go on the steam trains, and Southwold where my grandparents lived and it's by the sea, maybe the Broads and go on a boat, and French DIL wants to visit Cambridge.

Sounds a good itinerary @Busy-Lizzie. We used to stay with my grandparents when I was a child and slept 3 to a bed, alternately heads and feet. We thought it was great fun.

My lovely DIL has cooked us a smashing dinner and has managed (hopefully!) to get me sorted on the NHS app. She videoed my face for me, using my phone, with me holding up the written code on a bit of paper next to it. Convict no. 1459!! App says it will confirm or reject ID within 48 hours. Fingers crossed, that was my 5th try over 3 days, spending well over an hour each time.

Good news about your bulbs @Badly_Maintained. I did what you advised, relaxed so much I fell asleep in the armchair.
