Well done, @Lizzie27. I managed 40 minutes in the garden this morning, cut down some rhododendrons and got attacked by some enormous brambles, stems like tree trunks. Very dull and grey here today, but we took a walk round the village. Lots of daffodils, snowdrops and a few crocus out. Hope all goes well tomorrow, @coccinella.
@ViewAhead I'm going with your perfectly reasonable seasons. In addition, I will continue to use Celsius to prove how cold it is and Fahrenheit to prove how hot it is.
Celsius wasn't introduced to the UK for weather forecasts until 1962 so I had 11 years prior to that. For many years after then, both were given in the forecast.
Clothes sizes are all over the place these days (ladies' clothes, anyhow - gents' sizes might be more consistent). I have tops in every size from 8 to 14 (from various shops/brands) all of which fit (I must admit the 8 was a surprise).
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
@JennyJ men's sizes are no more consistent. I've been trying on my short sleeved shirts in the hope that we will have a summer. All marked as the same size but some are very loose on my but a few are so small that there is literally a gap of a few inches between the buttons and the button holes. None were marked as 'slim fit' as I am most definitely not!

It had never occurred to me, but I do that too.
I use Celsius at all times.

The daft thing is that I was wearing an M & S Size 16 jumper when I went in. You can't win can you?
