Busy, thought they were grown up a wigwam? If not, yes, just canes will do but I thought they grew quite tall and, with the weight of them, thought the wigwams were needed. 🤔We  may have to buy some taller bamboo canes. My, what a house full  you'll have in May with all the family coming.

They are broad beans aren't they, Hazel? I only use wigwams for runner beans. Broad beans are 3-4ft tall and don't climb or twine but need a bit of support around them against bad weather. Runner beans climb but aren't hardy so don't sow them until mid April or May. Broad beans are hardy but if yours have been grown indoors don't plant them out until the weather is milder and harden them off first.

Ah, thanks for that Busy. Yes, our ps are broad beans so it will actually work out better for us as our little veg patch isn't big and there isn't a great deal of available space. Just enough for try a few things. I think the canes we have, plus some  twine, will be just fine. then .Thanks a lot for that advice.  Really appreciate it.
Good news! Our last delivery has been made today. 👍

Glad it's stopped snowing Busy. We've had rain this afternoon but it's cleared up now..

Not sure if anyone is aware but Pansyface has closed her account done with the forum and all her posts etc are gone. Such a shame that's she decided to leave.

    Good afternoon all.
Hazel, your beans look lovely and healthy. I hope you get a good crop later on this year. 23's bean is amazing. I really like broad beans as a vegetable. Hoorah, the long awaited delivery has been made. I trust you are happy with the purchases.
Hope that you get your leak sorted out @Red maple. I wonder why it is that all these snags appear when the weather is throwing its worst at us.
Gosh Busy, now you have got some snow. Still none here. When your son, with all the family arrive, at least the hour will have changed and the weather should be much kinder. I am sure that you will have a lot of fun.
Hazel, I emailed Pansyface as soon as I saw her post about leaving the forum. I do respect her decision but will miss reading her, often very amusing, posts.

Red Maoke, another leak? This weather certainly does find those little areas on roofs etc that can become worn, don’t they? Hopefully it don’t be a big job.
LB, if Pansyface  contacts you,  would  you please pass on my best wishes to her , I will miss her posts too ? Hope she keeps well. Thanks.
Also, we are very pleased to have received the deliveries now, it was a trying time waiting for them.

    I will Hazel.
My telephone consultation was OK I suppose. I mean what else can you say. The surgery was catching up on last November's figures. I've been asked to do another 4 days of blood pressure readings and I have another telephone consultation arranged for 30th January. I've also got to have another blood test. Ain't life fun?! I then nipped over the road to see Jack and I ended up cutting all the old leaves off his hellebores and making him a brew before walking up to the village to pick up a prescription. I was shattered when I finally got home. I was amused when at Jack's, watching a cheeky squirrel attacking his bird peanut feeder. He tells me its a regular.

Thanks LB.......the phone consultation would be a bit out of date by now so no wonder they are asking you to repeat everything. This getting older is full of medical requirements nowadays the older we get. I get fed up of it all. Chin up now, keep on keeping on , as my dear old mum keeps saying. It's really nice that you are keeping an eye on Jack too, you're a good neighbour. Get a good rest tonight after your busy day.
