Morning, @Pat E. It was interesting to hear that you are relatively near a town with shops. From the photos of your view from the house, I would not have been surprised if you had told me that it was a four hour drive each way on dirt roads!
Its a bit warmer tonight, 4C, but still a lot of frost on the pavements. I’ve had to kick off the extra blanket we needed for the last couple of nights. It was still 0C at 10.30am yesterday morning, but I think the worst of the cold might be over for a spell.

Looks like we have had a lot of snow overnight.

Morning all. We had some snowy flakes yesterday evening but by teatime it had caught the mountain top just up from us. Daughter's ex came over with grandson (he usually spends the weekend with us during school time) and pronounced the mountain to be well covered. After we all had our usual Saturday roast, ex left to journey home. We presume that he made it safely as we heard nothing more - big farmer's 4x4. But there were several messages on FB last night telling local folks to avoid the mountain road if possible. It seems that Cumbria has caught it badly and it has travelled to catch @punkdoc too. Judging on the latest news it will soon arrive to visit @Dovefromabove and @Busy-Lizzie amongst others as well. Some of the maps show white areas over us too, but we shall have to wait and see, at least being a Sunday folks probably dont have to journey anywhere unless really necessary.
Love the dress Busy especially the colour, glad to that your OH is feeling better.
Enjoy your day @Hostafan1 and safe journey home on Tuesday.
    Stay safe and warm folks.

    Morning folks.

After freezing temps all day yesterday we now have rain. Glad it’s not snow though as, pretty as it may be, that’s just an inconvenient hassle.

Take care all those with cold, wet or snow (or sunburn risk). I hope everyone has a decent Sunday.

  • Morning everyone,  grey and wet here too at least the frost has lifted, unlike the past 2 days. Might venture to the plots to see what I can gather in , might be worth trying parsnips now we have had frost.
SIL  has covid again,  not too ill, but it's made us think we might curtail our theatre trips in the run up to Christmas.  We have extra family from USA this year staying with SD but we are doing Christmas day.  Still Woking out how to fit 4more bodies in but I expect we'll manage.  Somehow 😄
