  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Thats certainly something @Pat E, but I’m not sure what 😆 My app says there’s a lot of rain in Cairns but the wind is only 14mph.
It’s chilly here … 2C and drizzling. Apparently this is the last wet day for a little while .., that’ll be a relief .., there’s still floods affecting some villages and even some A roads in Suffolk.

    Good morning everyone!

I remember Cyclone Tracy @Pat E  NZers were shocked and quick to support.  It seems that every year around Christmas the Southern Hemisphere which includes Indonesia, get battered during this cyclone season which is from November to April.  As an ex-yachtie, any Pacific crossings were not advised.

I hope your day goes quickly @AuntyRach - one of my nurse neighbours is in casualty and does 3x 12 hour shifts/week.  Usually 7pm - 7am.

My Nan was also known as Lucy Lizzie27.  I thought so too @coccinella - after the 21st December the shortest day.

@punkdoc This seems to have dragged on long enough.  From past experience, I know that doctors make the worst patients.  I hope you are looking after yourself and Moira.  Get well soon!

And it's a get well soon to all with sniffles and aches.  Have a pleasant day.

  • Morning all,

Finally it's stopped raining! Cold but at least brighter.

Lots of cake baking today, I've 35 firefighters coming for a Christmas Tea Party on Saturday afternoon, they want 20€ a head worth of cakes, an assortment of the best of British. 😁

Get well soon to poorly peeps.

A good day to all, whatever you may be doing.

  • Morning everyone,  another grey damp start here too. I  was a Capel Manor yesterday the morning was dry ish but we packed up at 2pm as the persistent drizzle was getting worse.  Planning to bring the Christmas tree into the house today and get the decorations down from the loft.
Your photos cheer us up too @Pat E  so thanks for sharing.

  • @AuntyRach Bought our C'mas RT yesterday but only because it's a "tradition".  Vastly overpriced and not much to highlight either :D

Anna, what a lovely memory.   Our plant is the same- always seems to produce flowers or buds for months.

    Hello
Sky is a little lighter today, tomorrow should even be better, dare I hope? A dry day is enough for me: as per usual muggins here are carrying a lot of stuff to Amsterdam...
Hope your day isn't too hard @AuntyRach!
    How are you today @Ergates?

Morning all, it's actually dry, warmish and a little bit brighter for a welcome change. Just having a quick coffee before diving into town for a haircut and mooch around. We've got a s/m delivery soon and I've just realized I've completely forgotten to order our usual Sunday lamb - oops. Will make do with roast chicken portions instead as that will empty some space in the freezer ready for next week.

Seems The Fairy rose is quite popular, I bought a pack of three, in white, pink and red a couple of years ago. Grew bigger than I expected but quite pretty. Gave the red one to my sister and have the pink one near the front door. I think my pink camellia is just coming into bloom near the garage so will check in a minute when I go out.

Hope all poorly people feel a bit better today.

    Right, must dash.
