There are houses down our street that have had outdoor and indoor decorations up since the middle of November . It seems to be a thing to leave the front room curtains open in the evening when the tree's up. Won't be doing that, we have ours in the (slightly larger) back room anyway.

I'm the same as you @JennyJ, I don't like putting up my decorations until just before Christmas but might have to this year as family are coming to visit on the 22nd.
I think I might clear out our suitcase cupboard today, I need to squeeze in the picnic backpack I bought during covid, which currently squats in granddaughter's bedroom. Nothing like having overnight visitors to force you to tidy up!
The left over carpet remnant also needs to be put back into the loft. I was jolly glad I had saved these when we had our staircase remodelled recently as needed an piece for the extra stair.
We'll be bringing my parents to stay for a few days over Christmas so i need to sort out the spare bedroom. It's currently doing duty as sewing room/charity shop stuff dumping ground/stuff waiting to be put away in the loft/Christmas gifts that haven't been wrapped yet plus paper and cards. I had to get started on gift shopping and wrapping early because Saturday just gone was the last opportunity to exchange stuff with my sister before Christmas, so while I was on a roll I bought most of what I want for other people too. I also took cards for my aunties and cousins to my parents' house because Mum will be seeing her sisters sometime in the next few weeks so they'll do the family card swapping and save ££ on postage. The rest are still to be written.
I'm not working today and it's raining, so I think I'll crack on with the sewing jobs this afternoon then at least I'll be a bit closer to putting away at least some of the stuff in there.

I did tidy up the suitcase cupboard which is in the eaves on the loft landing but only threw away an old plastic shoe bag. Seem to have an array of backpacks though.
My daughter is coming for tea on Weds and she told me we're going to put the tree up. Fortunately I helped decorate a tree for a church (1 of 20) today so all my decs are downstairs, ready and waiting.
Not sure we will be putting up a tree this year. I've not allocated a space for it yet. Can't find the lights or decorations. Still, there's plenty of time.
My Christmas tree corner is full of dog crate. I moved everything around ready for my sofa to be removed and nothing has gone back. Not sure if there is room anywhere else. I bought my last family present yesterday. Now to get the wrapping done. Our family has all agreed to treat ourselves to something we would like, need, or want as a present from someone in the family to save on postage. Especially the Canadian branch. Even a card costs over £2.00 to send. My son and daughter are going on a 7-week tour of Australia immediately after Christmas, camper vanning. They are turning into snowbirds, people who go away to avoid the worst of the Canadian winter, they live in the foothills of the Rockies. Very beautiful but very cold at this time of year. I must go out into the shed and unearth the Christmas lights.
It's £2.20! I sent two there this morning. 😉 Mind, it is the same to France now too, which is a heck of a lot nearer!
(I queued in the PO behind a Slovenian couple who spoke no English. They wanted to send a parcel but with the recipient in Slovenia paying for the postage. You can imagine this took some while to sort out.)
At this time of yr, the PO queue is the place to catch a virus, I'd say. All that sneezing and coughing in a crowded, enclosed space at the back of a tiny retail store! 😕
