Maybe the tin's been reused for something home-made? Or maybe they bought their prezzies early if the biccies were long-dated enough. Or recycled an unwanted gift.

I found five empty biscuits tins just before Christmas but I'm keeping them as they come in very useful for storing things - like cakes.
Actually, I suppose I don't really, really need to keep five. More clutter to be disposed of then.
I was pleased to get an email from the charity shop telling me that our donations had raised £45 odd plus £11 in gift aid so far. I'm gradually amassing enough 'stuff' to make another trip.
A lt depends on the size and shape @Lizzie27. Can't ever remember having one big enough to hold one of the 10 inch square cakes I make for social gatherings, or even a 9" diametre one for that matter.

I wish I hadn't got rid of my cookery books, how I missed them over Christmas!
I know that this is no help to you, but a thought for the future - I've learnt to scan any parts of books, documents, etc, that I think I might want, and save them. The originals can then go out. Space saved, information not lost forever.

What's the point of an empty biscuit tin!? Something I point out to my wife often.
