I really would like to redo my kitchen with pretty much all drawers. A lot of stuff is on shelves or in baskets right now, which kind of serves the same function, but the corners are externally problematic.

We basically redesigned the layout of our kitchen to avoid having to use corner cabinets, so instead of a U shape, it’s now a galley style, two sides facing each other. I would have liked a full height pull out larder cabinet, like one we had in a previous house, but there was nowhere it would fit. It was good to be able to access the shelves from both sides, and get right to the back.
We have had an under counter fridge which had pull out drawers, that was really good, again able to reach every thing at the back, no pulling stuff out to get to the food at the back ( and then finding it was out of date) and much easier on my back. However, when it needed replacing, they had discontinued it, only traditional style fridges to be had.

I had two tier metal mesh shelves  which swivelled on a central spindle put in my  corner cabinet and it's been really handy. I keep my cleaning materials on the lower shelf and plastic containers on the upper. Makes it so easy to reach everything.
I too, wanted a full height pull out larder cupboard but it wasn't available in the kitchen style I wanted at the time. Mine was an Ikea kitchen where you could get umpteen variations in cupboards, drawers, heights etc. Had some brilliant stuff.

Just got word that I'm due to have weeklong guests in April so suddenly all I can see is the clutter all around me. So naturally I'm spending my time perusing a gardening forum...
  • What else would you do?
Wait until the week before the guests are due to arrive and you will suddenly find the impetuous to start sorting and cleaning!

I have a pile of odd and old socks…
Any uses for them before they go to the bin? Dusters? Any gardening-related ones? Could they compost?

I use two odd socks on the upper prongs of a step ladder that can also be a straight ladder - stops them marking my walls.

Unless they're pure cotton or wool they won''t compost well - elastic, elasthane, acrylic content not good.

I have seen advice to use them to wrap glasses individually when packing up to move but that might not be of immediate use to you.
