  • You have my full admiration @b3. I wish I had your energy to tackle these sorts of jobs. I hope the sucky bags don't suck out your verve for continuing 😬

Thank the lord, @rowlandscastle444! So worried it might yet fall apart, but so relieved for you. And thanks for taking the time to update us all, despite your desperately busy day. Sleep well, assuming you managed to get the bed put together, and found the bedclothes!

Hallelujah, it has all become resolved. Well done @rowlandscastle444...a big pat on the back.
Enjoy the peaceful first night .....all will be well tomorrow now.
  • Well done, @rowlandscastle444!  Mission accomplished! 😁  You'll be feeling grey with fatigue today, so take it easy.  All the unpacking can wait.
  • Hi all. We got the news about 3pm that it MIGHT be possible, having hassled our solicitors, estate agents, removal company and more.
Our solicitors were being unhelpful. I gave them some ways in which they could skirt the problem, but they were uncooperative.
When the "Okay" finally came through, our removal company said that because it would be late getting into the property, there would be extra charges.
They were going to be minor compared to the alternatives.
But the day has been more stressful than it needed to be, and it shouldn't take the client to provide solutions.

No, I'd not been on GW forum, mainly because I spent much of the day on the phone. The mobile, because we'd been cut off by BT.

BUT WE HAVE LEFT OUR NEIGHBOURS, and it is quiet. Eerily so.
And I am shattered - physically and emotionally.
We might work out how to set the
    Congratulations.
Now take your time, and give yourself a break to recover. Revel in the quiet. It is very tempting to rush around unpacking but it really can wait a few weeks. Get to know your new home, and discover its quirks, it is sure to have some!
I actually bought a smudging stick and went around the whole of my cottage, not for any reason other than clearing any bad energies I did not know about and to say hello, you belong to me now. It seemed to give me a connection to the house immediately and we have been friends ever since.

I think I might be turning into a zealot ( think recently  reformed smoker) my drawers and shelves look like a Soviet supermarket in the sixties (was it 70s?)  Alliteration works either way.
I pounced on an ancient receipt with disturbing relish this morning.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I think I've worked myself into a temporary (I hope) standstill. Either that or I can blame the weather!

  • Went to buy the newspaper this morning, and came across this on the top of the letterbox just down the road

How lovely. There are similar things all over

😂  Congratulations on your successful migration to the minimalist mindset.

@pansyface, oh my! 😱  Lucky Mrs Edwards didn't bang her trowel against that once too often!

@rowlandscastle444, out and about enjoying your new neighbourhood, eh? 👍
