Afternoon all. Did the big shop at 'sco this morning - once I'd defrosted the car - and, @rowlandscastle444 I got everything I had on 'the list' plus all the extras you don't really need but just have to have. I bought a pair of Christmas earrings. Little clear baubles with silver and purple sprinkles in, suspended from silver stars - couldn't resist!
I have just been out to wheel the bins to the bottom of the drive - its Baltic out there. Nice to be inside now for the rest of the evening.
T'Bird, I've a load of perennials that have reached the stage you described but its too cold at the moment here as well.
@Red maple, my friend from Crewe does grave pots every year for her family graves at Christmas and at Easter.

Those earrings sound Β lovely LB, very cheery.
Topbird, the cuttings areΒ just sticks now, brown/black so I'm assuming they're dead. I'll leave them in the pots though and see what happens next May time, as you say, you never know.Β
Brother rang today, mum’s house has sold.

Hazel, the closing of another chapter. I sense it is very bitter sweet for you. Onwards and upwards.

It is LB,but a necessary thing to do. Very sad.Β

I know how it feels as we had to do the same for our Mum but we didn't have the same emotional connection to her bungalow having lived all our formative years with no longer than three years at any one time in any one house.
I am signing out for tonight. See you all tomorrow.

It was sad selling my Mum's house too, but it was the house they retired to, not the one I grew up in.

Changed our plans and did the weekly shop in town. I bought books for 2yr old grandson, to take back to France for Christmas.

    Good morning to all.
A night with too many interruptions. Not external. Just my own mind.

    Morning all (from the CA),

    Marti here.

Reports of an increase in cash use on TV. Good to hear. Not as pleased to see coverage of wiff-waff with his latest bout of insincere, sorry-I-got-found-out piffle. What's the point?

Right - on with the tedium...

Good morning @rowlandscastle444 and Biglad. Marti here too Biglad but I somewhat prefer that for driving in to the extremes of frost we had the other day.
I bet Ante is laughing at us because he gets far more extremes than we do but hey, we're Brits and this is what we love talking (moaning!) about!
