Forgot to mention earlier, one of the rose cuttings has died off. The one remaining one is turning black, no hope I think. On a plus side, I've noticed daffodils beginning to push up through the soil and one lone tulip coming up in a pot. Signs of Spring.....
Hazel, I have noticed daffodils coming up in some of my pots too. A bit too early I think but we'll see how they do. Shame about the rose, but you still have the lemon balm.
I have discovered that if I have no interest in any particular subject, then I make no efforts to involve myself in learning about, or understanding it. Like the game bridge for example so all that 'stuff' going on yesterday with the Chancellor (whoever he is) has just passed over my head.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hazel, sorry to hear that rose cutting is turning black. Next time you will success.
T'bird, thank you for the tip about Regency Street. I'll definitely go this evening. Btw, my landlord gave my a choice, we can go out for fish and chips, or his wife will cook dinner. Aperently he has very limited budget.๐
I had very pleasant day yesterday. I visited Thames, Soutwark, Borough market, and few other things. Must admit that I didn't try eels. Ladies at restaurant showed my how it looks, and it's not appealing at all. Today I will visit British museum and area around.
I was in this lovely shop. Now must make a plan how to smuggle all that tea thru custome office.
Morning everyone, I slept a bit better, but have been awake since 6 o'clock ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ Hope @Rubee and @Topbird slept better......as well as everyone else of course.ย @Songbird-2 so sorry to hear the rose cuttings haven't taken. Is there any way you could take some more?ย If not, perhaps next year find a white rose that's ad near as possible to your mums.ย @Ante1 you made me laugh when you mentioned your landlords budget ๐๐ A friend is coming to see me this afternoon. Will be nice to seeย her for a catch up.ย Have a lovely day everyone. Enjoy the sights of London @Ante1 look forward to more pics. Maybe you'll have to buy another case to get all the tea and souvenirs home. ๐
Good morning SGL. Wish you a lovely time with your friend.
I'm sorry for all mistakes and upside down photos, but autocorrect is killing me. When I come home I'll post more photos. It's much easier to works on laptop. I have too big fingers for cellphone.
I've just put the paper/cardboard bin out. Although it is full (mostly pizza boxes that youngest kindly donated when I called at hers last Sunday!), it isn't very heavy. Strong, blustery winds aren't ideal when loads of wheelie bins are on the pavement of a steep street! In the short space of time I was out there, one blew over a few doors up. No doubt the wagon will come at about 3.30pm when there is just a pile of bins at the bottom of the hill and debris everywhere ย ย
