@clematisdorset I have used the Daily Motion (a rather scatological name) for gardening shows that are hard to find elsewhere. They go up and come down like Youtube. They used to have all the "Big Dreams, Small Spaces series", which I liked a lot; now gone. If you are looking for a show, it's worth checking to see if they have it. The BBC don't seem to take down all the GW on Youtube assiduously, so its worth looking there first, though hitting right keywords can be tricky to find the right show.
😊that's true, @Fire ! Thank you, I did not know that. I will check YouTube too. It is annoying when things get removed seemingly on a whim, so I will try to be quick about it.

@thevictorian I'm not sure that's it quite the right clip but I did find a good section including lots of conifers in the episode 4 of last year's winter special, starting around 25 mins.
I remember an episode where there was a chap growing lots of interesting shrubs and (I think) trees, with a particular focus on calcifuges, which was interesting as he didn't have ericaceous soil.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Should I ever find any notes about the episode and segment I remember seeing. I will post the details. I recall the handkerchief tree and Cercis canadensis tree (memory jogged by reading this thread). Cannot currently recall anything other than I think it was a garden around the side and back of a house - think they walked from the front or side and the side garden was on the left side of the front of the house. It looked like a semi-urban area, maybe even a village with a quiet road next to the side garden, and I think the man discussed his trees with a GW presenter, but the segment also showed photos of the trees. He had one particularly very large or tall tree and he agreed it was only possible to grow in a large space.
Ironically I was thinking about this segment last week (no idea why) and was annoyed I could not recall more details.
I still think it was Wiltshire, maybe Salisbury or Pewsey (or if not the wider south-west) and I think Toby Buckland was there or commented about it during the programme.
I am sure I saw the programme in the last 15months...and it might have been the same segment that @jordanw130815653 is seeking.
I do know the Argyll & Bute episodes aired after the one I am recalling here.

@clematisdorset that certainly sounds like the right segment - I wonder if I message Toby on Instagram if he'll remember it, even if he wouldn't know the episode/ time of airing?

Ah. I try and take the reverse view - it's amazing and highly illegal that we get to view these old shows under copyright at all.

In the above link people were posting it about it back in the beginning in March.
Or is that the one @Fire mentioned at the beginning, Linn Botanic Gardens in Argyll, Scotland.
....I love a good mystery
Edited at least twice for atrocious spelling.

If it wasn't him or he doesn't remember hopefully he knows someone at the BBC that could help track it down, anything would be of use!
