I know it doesn't help but I remember that segment as well because I love trees. The chap had some really impressive, rarer, specimens and I have a feeling it was nick bailey that went there. I don't think it was this year though. I wonder if it was towards the end of 2021 when they did a special programme about trees.
It is such a shame it is so difficult to find! I am sure I made some written notes about the trees - I just hope I made a note of the date the show aired.
I will have a look for my notes @jordanw130815653. Toby and Nick are both less regular on the show. I have a feeling it was someone like that. I am veering towards Toby Buckland in Wiltshire, but I could have faulty memory syndrome!
@thevictorian I remember they did a special episode on trees. Do you think it could have been repeated in 2022 or 2023 because I am sure I saw it within the last 12 or 15 months, at a push.
The GW iPlayer listings only go back so far, unfortunately.
If it was Wiltshire, might it have been connected to this? - it might jog memories if correct...
I'm not sure @clematisdorset it may be newer but I tend to underestimate time so thought it was longer ago as I haven't been watching many gardeners world programmes over the last 18 months.
I don't think it was the tree special as I know I didn't watch that and it assuming I'm thinkin of the same piece. The one I saw had a handkerchief tree and some amazing conifers which included a really nice specimen of a weeping tree that I think was a Mexican pine.
That is helpful @thevictorian because my notes mention the handkerchief tree... plus silver birch 'Snow Queen' and Pinus patula / mexican weeping pine!!! It might be the same programme. ☺️ I wrote it aired on Friday 14/10/22. Could this be the right programme? Unfortunately my notes are minimal and I recall more in my own memory. @jordanw130815653 I don't know if this is the same programme I remembered but worth a try?😊
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus
Thanks everyone for the help! The closest tree I've found on Google is a circis canadensis golden falls - it may well have been a very mature in of these, and if not the general single trunk covered in weeping branches down to the base is similar to what I remember.

If you want to buy one then tree nursery catalogues are the place to look. Useless to know the name if you can't buy one.
