Your roses are so beautiful @Marlorena. Your Cornelia is so much better than mine, but mine is still quite young. I hope it turns out like yours. My Ghislaine de Féligonde isn't as yellow as yours. She's young too, I think I've had her 3 years.

@Busy-Lizzie, that rose is gorgeous. I have high hopes for my new Ghislaine this year. It still has full, healthy foliage and is growing well. The leading shoot has grown 3-4ft and has poked through the trellis fence and is heading south towards my rope swag as hoped.
My plans are certainly to better nurture the roses I have. I like my current selection - for the first time, everything seems to be the right thing in the right place (almost). About one third are fairly new in. I am hoping for a good display this summer but in reality that may be a few years off yet. I want to get on top of the rose sawfly this year and retrain three or four big climbers.
Today I went to the big plant nursery and bought more roses. Can't resist them. The David Austin roses were in pots and only 15€, a lot cheaper than in the UK. I wonder why? The other roses were 12€. Gentle Hermione, Olivia Rose Austin, Annapurna (a white very scented HT), and Super Trouper to go in the Jewel Bed. OH likes orange roses. They had lots of roses, mostly HT, from French growers (I'm still in Dordogne) that I've never heard of. Lots named after French celebrities.
I hope that the Rose de Rescht that I bought the other day from the smaller place will look like this one day.
