  • Fully understand that they may be snowed under, or have a creaking admin system.  But that means nothing to the customer.  A rely gives confidence in them as a company, and that I ain't got at the moment.

So I'll do the same to them.  If they send the invoice then it will be ignored, or I'll refer them to my previous email (which was sent to the customer services email).

Call me old fashioned, but I like to be organised and know where I stand with suppliers (in work and in personal dealings).  So I went with the supplier, who though they cost more, has applied the resources to customer service.

@PeterAberdeen the earliest I have received bareroot roses from TCL is early December, I mean for orders placed in July. So I'll wait for some more time. Also, they invoice you when they despatch the roses and I have paid after I receive them. HTH.

Well, it can, as the forum confirms that it's a good company, worthwhile supporting.

Agreed, I have bought from them before.  However, they need to get their comms sorted out to instil better confidence - IMHO.

My experience with Tanya's Garden (WAMS posted it here)

They delivered two bare roots after a week  of placing order.. placed order for express delivery (only because the other option was a EVRI delivery) on a Saturday evening and it was delivered by Friday evening... roots were wrapped in tissues and then with plastic.. short roots but good number of stems.. few things that bothered me was that there was no way to mail the company or phone them.. only way to contact them was to fill the form but despite filling 3 forms, I got no reply.. had to look them up on Social media and PM them.. to which they replied 'will get back'.. now as days pass by, you get that feeling that you have been duped.. I felt so much relief when the order finally turned up.. now the comments on Social media is not great.. as one got a different rose to that which was ordered and poor after sales support/ response.. Time will tell if the 2 I ordered are not something else altogether.. order if you don't mind being left in the dark and are happy to wait for another 6 months to find out about your rose.. which by the way is not cheap either..

Thanks for the review, @cooldoc, and sorry you had some anxiety over it. Fingers crossed that your roses are the right roses. What did you get?

I can't bring myself to order from her just because I know the dodgy communication and shadiness (who is she? She's very cagey about it other than saying she's Ukrainian) would drive me up the wall. But I have heard from others that she does-eventually- replace mislabels. Hope yours are OK!

My Dickson order turned up, just Fryers to go. Omg where am I going to put this lot haha! ;)  mostly smaller shrub/ patio types thankfully & new front bed & pot space, plus removing a couple of scruffy shrubs out back.. lots of digging to do.

Saturday had a bit of winter sun so I popped out to get some air. Realised id left bring me sunshines pot sitting in its new next size up pot... with no drainage! It was swamped, but seemed fine. Got it pruned & repotted in a bigger pot (with drainage!) and some fresh compost. I grow it with Tangautica 'little lemons'.

Got the bare roots all potted in nursery pots for now and in my usual bare root winter rose nursery, down the side of the house. Still not been able to plant any bulbs yet!

They look better than some I have had from DA recently.:) Hope they do well. I was tempted by this one

But no idea if it is really Tradescant or whether I'd have the nous to be able to tell it from Prospero, Dark Lady, etc. There are too many red Austins- or there were, rather.
