Hi all! What is your most floriferous climbing/rambling rose? I'd like to plant one (or more) in a rather prominent location so want it to flower for as long as possible. Should have enough space for all but very vigorous ramblers I think...
  • @Dasha I’m not sure you’re looking for a rambler if you want it to flower for as long as possible, unless you want floriferous once flowering too? I find the repeat flowering ramblers do not have as much impact as once flowering.

That's interesting, thank you @badgerwatch! I would prefer a repeat flowering rose I think. Something continuous or with quick repeat. Starting flowering as early as possible and finishing as late as possible. If it flowers all year round I wouldn't mind that either hehe :)

I have just bought Purple Skyliner, @Dasha,  which I haven't grown before but the man at Peter Beales said it's very floriferous and repeats flowers a lot. It's a small rambler so may not be tall enough for you. I wanted it for a 6ft fence. https://www.classicroses.co.uk/roses/purple-skyliner-rambling-rose.html

My daughter says Super Dorothy is another floriferous rambler that repeat flowers.

    Rambling Rosie repeats well too.

Thanks for the pics @cooldoc , looks like another apricot/cream. No wonder they retired Jude . Not had a climber for a while but if only launching one that is a bit limiting. Most people, like me, can find room for a smaller rose, how many can they sell of a climber? But I can cast my eyes safely elsewhere now, I do not think I need a pale rose.

After Bring Me Sunshine and Dannahue in recent years, another apricot/orange this year? :#

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • Nothing to do with roses but I have just received J. Parkers catalogue (too downmarket here for David Austin!) and they seem to be selling Clematis Rogue Cardinal!
