Actually every gardener here is an inspiration.. not good for the wallet when everyone starts posting their garden pics .. and I am ever thankful that I found this rose group..

Completely agree with you here @cooldoc. After just under 2 years on this forum I have not learned as much as all the long-time rose gardeners on here, but at least I have learned enough to have the confidence to give it a go. The wallet has taken a hit as I have now tripled the number of roses in the garden!
I totally agree with you @cooldoc Everyone’s photos are so inspiring! It’s also very interesting to see how different roses behave differently for different people.
I’m compiling a list of roses and I’m thinking of putting a large-ish order with TCL for next bare root season. Those, who used them this year, did you receive everything you’ve ordered?
@Oliya they might not sent DA roses to us.. Last year with a small order I did not have any mis labeled ones.. this year will know for sure once they are in bloom.. remember @Nollie having some issues 2 years in a row??
@cooldoc I do want to try and get my hands on Jude… I also want to order a few roses from my wish list so if they fail to send me Jude I should still have a nice selection of roses I’ve been admiring on this thread for a long time:)
Does anyone grow Scented Carpet? I think I read somewhere that @Marlorena used to grow it… what the scent is like? Chris Warner’s website states that its fragrance “can be detected from up to 30ft away”. Is that really so??
I think quite a few of us have had the odd mislabelled rose from TCL in the past @cooldoc and @Oliya. My ‘Vichy’ turned out to be ‘Thierry Marx’ last year. If it’s just one among many, might be worth the gamble, especially at those prices?
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Oliya Well remembered, yes I used to have 'Scented Carpet'.. as much as I love Chris Warner's roses, I'm surprised he made that comment. Maybe on a large plant or several plants, but I had to get close to mine and even then I wasn't overly impressed but it was some years ago, so don't let that put you off. Continuous flowering, can be grown as ground cover or allowed to climb. Small pink flowers.. not many thorns on the canes but lots of prickles on the stems under the blooms including the calyx ..
An interesting rose, but I found it underwhelming..
@Marlorena thank you for sharing your experience with this rose. I did think that it would’ve been more widely used if it was as scented as Warner claims.
It’s so hard choosing roses without seeing them in flesh. I definitely have a few that I wouldn’t have bothered with if I saw them in real life first. Likewise, I don’t think I would’ve ever bought Souvenir de St Anne’s if I haven’t seen and smelt it - I feel photos really don’t do it justice.
