@PeterAberdeen, Ghislaine de Féligonde is a repeat flowering rambler, which is why it flowers on old and new wood. Most ramblers only flower once in summer on old wood, which is why you prune them after flowering. That gives them a chance to grow new stems which will flower the next year. Lovely dog photo.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
A quick brush out is all I do to pots too @PeterAberdeen. MAC was actually in that small pot for 2 years, poor thing! It’s interesting that climbers of comparable age and equal reputation for vigour planted direct in the ground have been much slower to put on growth for me.
Carminia looks good, @Tack.. and I always fancied Pink Martini just because of the name.
Yes that’s Bill in hiding. Smudge is as energetic and naughty as ever despite just being spayed - no more bonkathons, hurrah! She’s quite small for her age/breed so I think will always have a puppyish air:
Tea roses are a bit of a puzzle for me. They seem to do so well in hot, humid climates in the southern US, but here blooms are smallish, fleeting, shrivel in heat and hate the rain. I either have the wrong kind of ‘hot and humid’ or they need a couple of extra years to toughen up...
Day-old Mme. Antoine Mari and Not Crépuscule blooms, temps in the mid 20s:
Lady Hillingdon blooms are bigger and better but she doesn’t bloom so much, so far:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Yes, no need to concern oneself with rose replant from potted roses.. scrubbing not necessary Peter.. Yesterday whilst out, I came across a row of climbing Iceberg roses, about 8 feet tall and all in full flush, looking magnificent, if somewhat sparse with foliage..
'Marie Pavie'.. 'Bring Me Sunshine'.. sparse blooming this autumn, probably due to local reasons.. 'Marie Nabonnand'.. 'Lilac Bouquet'.. 'Forever Royal'.. 'Scented Garden'.. ..a good book, with lots of lovely photos.. well worth having.. if a bit outdated from 1993.. ..one of the Austin pages.. all pinks !
@WAMS I’ve been tempted by Archiduc Joseph before, good that TW claim it’s one of the hardier Teas, but how it does in rain would be good to know. Think I’ll hold off on any more though, until I see if the blooms on mine get more weather resistant with age.

I’ve just realised I failed to order The Poet’s Wife for OH! I think my brain had forgotten on purpose because a) I have a few more yellows on order already b) I really didn’t want another rose that needs propping up and c) I have no idea where to put it.
I could add it to an existing order, or, do I keep schtum since she seems to have forgotten about it too? Your votes will be counted!

We women never really forget anything. It's a trap!
John Paul II from Welling Roses on FB- stunning fragrance. I just dug up and binned Sugar Moon because both this and Annapurna smell better. Maxima Romantica... bought for a friend now several timezones away. I suspect it's mine now.😁 Susie Belle de Jour, blooms a lot but doesn't appear to be as a wow rose like AbFab.
Some other things I have dug up- Nostalgia- and I think Charles Rennie M might have to sling his hook. The second flush has consisted of two meagre buds, both balled. The Ingenious Mr Fairchild is a similar colour and shape but has larger blooms, is far more fragrant and has bloomed a lot more in year one. Perhaps I should give CRM a second year.
I am also going to move Emily Bronte into the sunshine as it has bloomed so sparsely this year.

Re Tea roses, is Archduke Joseph any good? Trevor White have brought a couple back into stock and I am tempted...
