Good spot, @cooldoc... I nearly ordered Charlotte's Rose! I have Belle de Jour (and like it but don't love it), and would have been so very, very annoyed if they'd turned out to be the same.
Liliana / Renaissance Clair (Poulsen) from Trevor White. One of my favourites this year- such tender colours, and the blooms last well Lady Emma Hamilton. .. great fruit scent up there with Deelish and Princess Charlène de Monaco Dahlia Night Butterfly and a wee friend William Shakespeare 2000... smaller but still gorgeous. Penelope Lively. Has got a little rusty again (as it arrived) but is blooming prolifically Styles "Brenda's Beauty"... or whatever.🤷🏻♀️😉
Ah but phosphite is very different to phosphate @cooldoc, as I understand it, there is little danger of phosphorus overdose. This US info is the simplest explanation of it I’ve found..
But the UK has a really good climate for roses and if you have half decent soil, you mulch, feed, water really well… is another expensive product justified? You could always try it and tell us!!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Well then, it could be that Nollie.. too confusing for an average gardener.. will stick to the usual routine.. Have ordered DA fertilizer for next year.. hope they change the annoying measuring cup this time..
Glory be - I was away for a couple of days and Storm Agnes has taken a toll!
I have one standard that has buckled under the battering of the wind. Can I trim it now to release some of the weight from the head to give the stem some relief as it is bending alarmingly - and I do not want it to break?
This standard I was about to transplant into the ground when it went dormant, but the stake has become loose with the wind. Should I just trim it now and transplant it now - so that it does not suffer from any more wind rock and damage?
Oooh New thread! Ive been a bit quiet as my gardens in a friends care (along with the hounds!) whilst I'm in Japan for a few weeks. It was getting somewhat storm Nigel lashed before I left! Been visiting a few gardens here... occasional roses spotted in front gardens, but mostly we have been visiting traditional Japanese gardens.. very different but very beautiful! Some from Kyoto below.
OK - The wind was forecast to return today, so I have bit the bullet and trimmed the two Princess Anne Standards and transplanted them into the ground. This time they are south facing and in the lea of the house's gable end so pretty much sheltered.
Fingers crossed that they take to their new forever home spot.
I have also erred and succumbed to temptation ("Get behind me, oh David Austin") and ordered Summer Song as well as my 2 x Royal Jubilees - I'll just need to find it a place now in the garden!

Here some roses are shedding leaves, mostly HTs whereas others are showing new growth.

Sorry, I couldn't bend down to take a better picture!
