Oh wow, lovely. Thanks. Hopefully they'll make standards available soon.
Now... Dannahue, Roald Dahl or Fighting Temeraire?

One I got recently, "Fisherman's Friend" (from Welling Roses on FB). It's small and a bit mildewed, but the old rose scent is very very strong even at this stage. It's murderously thorny so I will put it out the front with Gertrude, Lochinvar and the rest of the cut-throat gang.
@PeterAberdeen the standards look great there! What's that in between them?
Very nice Peter.. prune when you want in order to stabilise..
Thanks @Marlorena - Glad I did the right thing. One of them (as you can see from the pictures) is smaller in the head than the other. This is the one that was bowing on the stem, so I wanted to take more weight.
Mum took all the flowers that I trimmed off. But they were too prickly for her. So definitely a garden rose vis-a-vis a cutting rose.
One thing, about roses, that I have definitely learned is that they are tougher than you think.
@Dasha Yes, I knew they would be cut back when I ordered.. they come in such huge boxes they could have left more growth on.. all the leaves got cut off when they were pruned, most roses don't have leaves right at the base except on short twiggy shoots, but they will leaf out again soon with the mild weather.
Nice selection of roses @Marlorena. I like the open flowers of The Lady's Blush. @PeterAberdeen good looking standards there. Thanks @JessicaS for sharing those photos. More please 😇 @Dasha QoS is one of my favourites. @WAMS you should get Othello for that thorny corner.

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

Great P Anne standards @PeterAberdeen! I am tempted by one of those. All their standards are out of stock and not even available for bare root pre order. I remember someone saying back on the summer thread there was a whispher they may not continue doing them if I remember correctly?
My first Boscobel bloom:
You're Beautiful..........
You're Beautiful after a week in a vase - petals still firmly attached..........
Princess Anne is producing the best blooms so far just recently.........
New Harlow Carr fully loaded..........
Does anyone have any tips for those roses that seem to easily get browned edges when they are bought inside and put into a vase. I do a nice 45 degree fresh cut, vase food, fresh water etc but some blooms the petal edges brown so easily e.g. Chandos B. Any tips/ideas to keep them at their best inside?
Think it will be a busy weekend since pay day has conincided with DA's 15% off bare roots

Thanks, @Marlorena, somehow I thought those roses were striped of their leaves... total newbie here I guess there is no chance of them flowering this year, right?
