  • I have a very confused Lady Of Shallott at the bottom of my garden…

Does anyone here have Malvern Hills? If so what kind of wall space does it cover? I have a space of 10-12 m and I want to cover it all. How many MH would you use?

2, spaced 12 feet apart..  but you will have your work cut out re maintenance, after 3 or 4 years..  I found one quite enough, but I'm probably a lot older..

Can I ask, what kind of maintenance problems? Can you not let it ramble rather than be 'trained'?

To follow up on Dasha's question - would all of you consider the above bark to be damaged and the cane in need of removal? Thanks

I 've been pondering that @Fire. Looking at the rose again, I think I would remove that damaged stem right to the base. The rose had a good 3 or 4 healthy looking stems so should be okay.

    Nice secateurs @PeterAberdeen ..
I’ve not been brave enough to do it yet. Even though I’ve now pruned it!
