So that's 27 - Goodness, I only had 10 a year ago!
I do the same @Lizzie27. My number is 78,which is plenty, though fewer than last year. I do keep looking at the rose offerings though. Maybe 80 would be a better round number.
I have used metal and black pots. When roses didn't like the heatwaves last year I didn't consider which rose part was suffering. Could have been the roots but if so caused no long term problems. The plants recovered as soon as the weather improved for them. As you know most of my pots are grey but clustered together the foliage mostly shades the pots.
How many roses do you anticipate starting next season with? including pots..
I have just updated my HMF list (it's free and easy to do). There has been a pretty big recent turnover for me, I notice - more than I had clocked. Lots given to neighbours. I have def'ly gone over to multiples of the same thing in recent years.
I have no plans to add more roses. Shocker. I have one Champagne Moment growing on in a pot waiting for a perfect spot. (My only rose in a pot). I am waiting on various roses to beef up: Buff Beauties, Cream Abundance, Chandos, City of York and Lady Hillingdon to see how they shape up and to see how easy going they are. They have had little attention from me this year. I have a couple of ideas on a wish list but I'm very happy with what I now have in - still nearly all climbers or trained to climb. I'm at around 26 rose plants, mostly big climbers.
My main aim is still to full clothe all the fences and achieve height. This isn't helped by years of swapping out roses. But hey ho. Fingers crossed for next year. I have introduced this year many more apricot/buff/champagne tones, going from mostly creams and reds. I am finding that Ghislaine makes for a long lasting cut flower, which is a nice plus.
My grand plan for the big red climbers is to cut them right back to the ground in Jan and start them again to see if I can grow them to train better. They should be established enough to cope a radical treatment.
Thank you @Marlorena. It is a very small garden. And I need to have it fairly open so that I can keep an eye on my two house cats, who are only allowed out under supervision. Can't have too many plants for them to hide behind!
Counted. Despite various shovel prunings/ giving away to friends & neighbours, the total is still 108 (or will be once the couple I am still waiting for arrive). If I uploaded the list, it would probably crash the site.
One comfort: I know Eustace's list must be far, far worse.😁

I have cuttings of these too and plans to increase my stock in time, tempted by a few from TCL and would need to get a fair few to justify the €35 postage (maybe next winter). Looking at maybe digging up my raspberry bed and turning it into a flower cutting bed next year but that’s time/money/space dependant and I don’t have much of either 😁.

Edit: 109! My friend just messaged me... Distant Drums is now available through CK Jones. This is such a beauty, all over the American pages. Wow. And she has bought me one.
