Morning all, nice sunny day here and looks like it might be hot later. I want to dig up the washing line spike and re-concrete a new hole while it's dry - or rather, get OH to do it whilst I supervise. The rotary line's been leaning over at an angle for months now which makes hanging out sheets a bit of a problem.

Good work @Busy-Lizzie, that looks like a lot of hard work.

Chocolate is my downfall as well @Pat E.

You'll be fine @punkdoc as long as you stop occasionally for a quick walk to loosen up if it's a long journey.

We're trying to work out when we could drive up to the Midlands to see my poorly brother, he's really struggling with his breathing now and that's not good news.

    Enjoy your Sunday folks.

    Morning all,
yes, the sun has got his hat on today. Temps expected to reach 25 degrees today. A welcome burst of late summer.
    Enjoy the day, everybody.

    Good morning all
Misty morning here(and muggy) but the sun's coming out and should be sunny for a few days.
That looks really nice @Busy-Lizzie, good work!
The men did a good job yesterday with the hedges and the 2 trees. I will carry on with painting the plants supports I got in England and then watch GW. OH cooking lunch: sausages and potatoes (ours) and red cabbage (shop).
Sorry to hear about your brother @Lizzie27. Hope you get to visit him soon.
    Nice Sunday all.

Day at home today. Pleasantly warm with some cloud. I’ve been catching up on boring stuff, laundry and clearing up in the kitchen ( OH seems to be incapable of putting stuff in the dishwasher - maybe as a result of me telling him off for not doing it properly) He is outside, moving earth. We lowered a section of garden a couple of years ago, and plonked the excess material in a pile on the concrete. It has since grown a covering of grass and weeds ( I did actually grow some potatoes in it last year, by shoving some sprouting eyes into the earth) He is now working on the slow job of transferring the stuff to other needy parts of the garden, hopefully without hurting his back.
I pruned back two weigela plants during the summer, and both have produced some fresh flowers.
Take care, all, especially those with journeys to undertake.
Thanks for the tip for the thorns, @Pat E, I’ll try that next time - there is bound to be a next time!- managed to get the current one out with a needle, healing up already.

Evening all.  The family were in town this weekend to celebrate various birthdays.  My sister made 3 different cakes!  We stayed out after it got dark and cold in my daughter's garden chatting and nibbling... And today to Southwold for fish & chips and then ice cream.  A simple pasta bake with our tomatoes for supper.
All that chatting and reminiscing is exhausting!

Edited to add: impressive paint job @Busy-Lizzie!

    Good morning all

I too slept more last night @Dovefromabove. Which is surprising because today is the day I am going to have a tooth pulled 😨 appointment is at 4.15.
Aside from that it should be a lovely, sunny day. Today is Braderie day (a sales day when shops put out their (old, usually) stock on the pavements. I am told some good bargains can be had, but the crowds are overwhelming (for me) I can't think of a worse way of spending my time than elbowing my way through people.

Hope you all have a great day.
