Thanks Didy and Tui.  I get a lot of pleasure out of knitting them. 😁

No apple tree in Norfolk, not a big garden. Several apples in France but only one edible raw. One is horribly sharp and bitter, one is just about OK to cook with and 2 haven't born any fruit.

    Thinking of @Dovefromabove today.

Off to do some gardening soon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Afternoon folks. Well, the two days of promised rain didn't happen. Got all the washing up to date. Going to see my best friend tomorrow (she was my ward sister) that's 100 miles round trip. Hubby out litter picking. Cake tomorrow for youngest grandaughters 1st birthday Saturday. Just popping in with the cake, because of the puppy. Love to Dove, hope everything went to plan. Have a good rest of your day people.

Relatively smooth journey to son’ house and settling in for child sitting duties. Feeling a bit zonked out, lights out at 10.30pm last night, and still awake at 3 am, with the alarm set for before 7 am. Probably should try and have an hours nap before the kids get home from school.
Hope the funeral went ok, @Dovefromabove, sad times. Hope @coccinella is having her tooth sorted satisfactorily, and can look forward to the wedding.
Eyes are shutting, I think I’d better set the alarm and let nature take its course!

Morning Forkers.  Cool start again, but as it’s town day for us, so getting some of my knitted dolls ready to take to the gallery shop.

Hopefully they might attract some interested buyers. It’s not the little bit of cash, but the fun of people liking them.

Time to get ready. See you all later.
Hi @Pat E, I really like these little dolls you've made. So lovely. Would you be able to let me have the pattern please as may give them a go myself. Have a few bits of spare wool  so it would be a way to use them up.  Thanks.

    Hello all,

Phew, friends departed just before lunch to meet up with their family for another 60th WA celebration. That's a marvellous achievement don't you think? We treated them to a superb dinner last night at a local posh boutique hotel. My desert was absolutely gorgeous, Poached Pear with mint, Pink Gin Sorbet and a Juniper Opaline (not sure what that was!), garnished with blackberries, edible sugared viola flowers on a spun sugar leaf - heaven.

Bedlinen and towels have been washed ready for the next visitor, DIL staying tonight.
I've just got to do the ironing and make up her bed. She's volunteered to cook tonight so that's one job I won't have to do. Must admit all this hosting is quite tiring, I don't think I'm 100% fit just yet but getting there.

Hope all with aches and pains start to feel better soon and that Dove's family funeral goes well.

  • Hello all … We left here just after 8am and haven’t long been home. A takeaway delivery has been ordered. My feet are up. All went well … I’ll tell you more tomorrow … it’s been a long day.

    Hello all
I have missed a couple of days here @Dovefromabove I hope you are OK.
Tooth isn't sorted yet buy I have an appointment with a surgeon Maxillo Faciale 4th of October. So, yes after the wedding.
I am so lucky to have a dentist cousin in Milan to guide me in what to ask and do. She also said that if they still make difficulties here she will book me in with a surgeon friend of hers. A trip to Milan! Might be expensive 🤔 though and not reimbursable.
My own dentist has been bad,  but the one she sent me to was appalling. Less than 2 minutes, the time to look at the xrays, no looking inside my mouth 65 euros for a no can't do. I was in tears, that's when I decided to call my cousin. I know she's busy and don't like to bother her, but she has been wonderful. She has explained everything and the tooth CAN (and must) be extracted with due care.
I am still on antibiotics until Wednesday. Tuesday we fly to Rome. Meanwhile I asked and received my file from my dentist as I am never going there again. After 10 years is a shame but I have to look after myself.
Lots of churning in my head, as well as being hot and headachy. I am going to make me a chamomile tea.
Nanight all and thanks for listening.

Songbird, thanks for the interest.  I’ve had to fiddle a bit with the original pattern, so I’ll have to write it neatly for you.  Not sure when, but will get it done eventually. 😏
