Good morning LB, Biglad and all to follow.

LB, we have the same dark and now cold morning. It's only 10℃. Still no rain, but it might start any moment.

My pets are all fed and now is time for cup of tea. It will be another day for stay in with book.

    Morning all.

We had a racing start off the boat last night and were through passport control and customs before the advertised arrival time of the ferry🙂 Home before 9pm and, after the best cup of tea in weeks (made with softened water so no scum) we sorted the post and collapsed into bed. Awake early because of the time difference so need to get on with emptying the van so OH can clean it while I visit the SM and then we can take our time sorting 'stuff'. Lily's TV will be working overtime.

Garden looks very autumnal and the heating has clicked on - will be jumper and longs today. There's a list of autumn chores (ordering logs, oil, boiler service etc etc) but that might have to wait a day or two.

    Must get on - SYL.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

    Morning all.

    Welcome home, @Topbird.

I have toothache. A while ago a tiny bit of a molar chipped off making a small gap between it and the next tooth. Dentist son said to keep it clean. I don't know whether I've flossed too much and cut the gum or if a little bit of food is stuck or if an infection is starting. I won't see son until mid October and there aren't enough dentists here. They are all private but I would have to go privately anyway. A dentist in the local town charged OH £1000 to remove a tooth. Son said that was extortionate.

A quiet day I think. Grey and windy outside, doesn't look very inviting and I have Strictly to watch.

I'm slowly getting round the garden, weeding and trimming and tying up. It's not too bad though. Shouldn't be so many leaves on the lawn now that neighbour has had his goat willow cut down. I must hose the sawdust off the long border today. It shows how many cobwebs there are.

Morning Biglad, ante, T'Bird and Busy.
Go for it Biglad - rhubarb crumble is delicious! I have had several deeply intense discussions with friends about what you should eat as an accompaniment with that dessert. I go for either evaporated milk or ice cream - preferring custard with my apple crumble. What is your favourite?
Well done T'Bird with the DODO (Dash On - Dash Off) organising. Nice to be home I'm sure.
Busy, that is a nightmare! Can you wait until you get back to France next month? My Dentist advised me to use interdental brushes instead of floss as they are supposedly better at removing the debris and they come in several sizes for the gaps in teeth. I have to admit that they are very good at their job.
Ante, guess what I'll be doing later today - a little hint 🏉 I will be going across to see Jack though and taking his birthday cake to him first.

  • Morning all.  I’ve just been out for a while, damp but not raining.  Hazel I met my first partner while he was singing.  There’s a humongous spider in the bathroom.  I hope he moves on far too big for a spider relocator and I don’t want to kill him.  He was over the bath but has relocated by the window.  Rosie
  • Biglad I do like apple and rhubarb crumble with custard or the accompaniments suggested by LB 😁.   Busy poor you with toothache.  I hope you can get something to ease the pain, maybe oil of cloves.  I don’t use an electric toothbrush.  I use a manual one with many fine filaments from Sweden because I find the electric ones too harsh.  Rosie
  • LB I’m sure Jack will be pleased to see you.  Hope he’s feeling much better now.  Enjoy some cake.  Rosie

I can't get an interdental brush between those two teeth. A molar and a wisdom tooth that should have come out years ago but will mean hospital.

I'm very easy going on the accompanying options @Ladybird4. Custard, double cream or ice cream. Maybe a different one with each helping ;)
