  • I thought exactly the same about Shirley's remarks to Nigel Harmon @Emerion Obviously not one of her favourites.

And yes a difficult dance for week 2, but I thought the same about  Les Dennis doing a Samba.

Except, @star gaze lily that Rock the Boat is just about the easiest possible song for a samba.  I often used it for dance club practice sessions for the beginners' track because it's slow for a samba and doesn't have changes of pace or rhythm.   Nancy didn't ask Les to do any difficult steps and he still fluffed it and looked lumpy.

We should be grateful for Shirley's comments about Nigel Harmon.  At least she wasn't drooling over him, as she does with so many of the male celeb's.

Disagree @KT53.  She needs to be objective, exacting and constructive with them all in equal part.

  • I suppose so 😉 @Obelixx

    That's true @KT53 😁
As Craig said I'd love to know what  Lauren was shouting at Krishnan 😱 she could have been a bit more subtle.
  • I thought Shirley came down weirdly hard on Nigel Harman and a few others, yet let a lot of sub-standard dancing pass. I also thought that with some of the poorer dancers, the judges gave no advice at all. In Les Dennis' case, I suppose they thought he was a no-hoper, but all the others deserve some decent advice. I have to agree with @Emerion - Les Dennis was so bad that I was in hysterics watching him. I read somewhere someone said he looked as though could have been auditioning for 'Dad's Army'...

I think the booing is part of the 'panto atmosphere' - possibly the BBC encourage it as a form of audience participation.

I missed Amanda Abington and a few others but Angela Scanlon was very good and I also thought there were echoes of Irish dancing in her elevations.

With Angela Rippon's performance, I thought her footwork was as light as a soufflé, lovely and elegant and her arms were held beautifully. I was shocked to see how stiff her neck and upper shoulders seemed to be though. Maybe arthritis or something like that. I think her strange rather sunken neck positioning and neck stiffness, along with the hairstyle/wig, made for an unfortunate pairing that made her look unnecessarily frumpy, but I thought her light footwork was a delight.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

Not a surprise to be honest.
@star gaze lily, if you saw the results show, they replayed Lauren and Krishnan's dance with her microphone turned up. A lot of instructions, mostly to do with his elbows and smiling  :)
  • @AnniD Yes I saw it 🤣

As you say not a surprise. I wasn't surprised at the other couple in the dance off either.

@Obelixx, I totally agree.  My comment was intended to be tongue-in-cheek.

Not surprised about Les Dennis , personally I didn’t even find him funny , I think he looked relieved to be out
