Went to see my youngest daughter on Thursday, who works there, she was ironically given her uniform the previous day.its only her second month,a lot of people are going for other jobs, she's unsure what to do. It's in the middle of a big shopping mall, always packed. Have been reading various reports in the news,by shopping experts, saying "it's not kept up with the times", it's not a "destination shop", it's not cheap enough. It can't compete with HOME BARGAINS, we do have one 5 miles away,B &M there is one opening next month, also 5 miles away I'm amazed at the amount of tea/coffee/cafes restaurants that are opening in Town, assuming they have done their homework and we actually need them. You remember recently M &S were on the brink, and said they were going to be food halls only.
I suppose that I might say that wilco is like woolies used to be in respect that it sells lots of lines that other stores sell better or cheaper, decorating paint and paper brushes e.t.c I would go first to b&q, homeware i'd look online although that would include wilco, cosmetics deodorant e.t.c probably super drug, cheap diy tools screwfix, b&q or our local independent store which sell a bit of everything, the thing that I would always go to wilco first for is their gardening department, seeds, water butts, fleece (although I have found fleece from many outlets to be rubbish lately so don't buy much of it), plant pots, labels always wilco first. The problem is I either have to go to the town centre and pay for parking when I don't need anything else in town or travel to the other side of town to a large shopping centre.
I went in Wilko on Saturday but they didn't have anything much that I wanted - no washing-up gloves in size small, none of the toiletries that I like, nothing tempting in the gardening department - no spring flowering bulbs, no garden gloves in size small. I bought a plant spray bottle, an A4 pad of lined paper and a packet of dye. I don't think I'll bother going again even if they survive.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
I hope they bring back some of the own-brand stuff that's been unavailable for the last few years. If they just have the Range stuff re-branded, not so good.

I saw some Wilko seeds in the Range a few days back. I'd be very pleased if they continue with the seeds, bulbs and the like. They had a good selection and some of the bare roots I tended not to see in other shops, just online for quite a bit more money.
Yes some products are coming back already on the Wilko site...including my cat's favourite food and treats 🤣 I just hope they are made to the same specification
