Oh heck, that's a real shame! I've heard it so many times recently that 'bricks & mortar' trading is going through it's worst ever period. My 'local' wine shop ceases trading this weekend  :(

I’ve only ever bought mail order from Wilco,  I’ll miss it,  I hope whoever takes it over keeps it similar to what it is now.

Sadly just more evidence of the death of the High Street.  We used to have B&M in town and at one of the out of town developments.  The one in town, and slap bang in the middle at that, closed a while ago.  Presumably rent and other costs in town were too high for it to remain viable.

Me too; I regularly order their wild bird food which is pretty good and a reasonable price.  I'll miss it.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

I've just read that about Wilkos. Hope someone keeps it going.
My Dad will be gutted, he's shopped there for years.
  • The main shop in our High Street is Wilko. If that goes, it'll be a huge loss.
  • We don't have them round here in Scotland, but I have ordered on line, both my huge water butts with bases came in the post from them!
  • Yes sad news .. I use our local store for gardening and household items. Spare a thought for their disabled staff .. not many shops are so accommodating to those with disabilities.

    a simple factor of economics.
Not enough customers putting money in the tills = a company going bust.

I saw it on the News on TV this evening, hard to believe. Our Wilko in Norfolk always has customers when we go and a queue at the till. I go there to bring things back to France that I can't buy here as well as buying garden stuff and paint for OH's Norfolk cottage.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
