I buy suet blocks for birds, they love them and are half the price of other places. i like their laundry products and always stock up on those. Such a shame, they’ll be greatly missed.

Our local Wilko is always busy so it’s not lack of customers that is the problem. Their prices are always competitive too but their margins must be so slim as they have to pay staff, premises, business taxes etc. unlike Amazon !! it’s a case of buy everything from Amazon and close your local shops ….

which is such a shame!
And if Amazon then closes down, or increases its prices significantly, the general public only have themselves to blame, because there will be little or no alternative.
Keep on using the High Street shops that we have - or lose them. I know my neighbours have loads of Amazon boxes delivered each week, because so often they are out when the delivery occurs.
I will continue to use Wilko, and other shops, while I can. If they exist!!
Unfortunately our nearest Wilco is a day trip, then you need to buy a lot of stuff to make up the travelling expenses, last time car park was about £8. Which is why I order online. i use amazon very rarely, their prices have gone up ridiculously high. Some things have doubled in just a year.

@Lyn that's interesting about Amazon prices overall. I only use them to buy e books for my Kindle. I hadn't bought any for a while but when I went on to look for some at the beginning of this year I noticed how much they had increased in price.

Sometimes I look on Amazon, or e-bay, to find an item. If they are independent sellers on either of these, I then see if I can find the item from the same seller, on their own website, then I will purchase it that way. Of course, sometimes it's more expensive, but if not by much, I'll buy that way. At least you know that no money is going to Amazon.
@rowlandscastle444 Yes, that's the best way round it - it seems that whatever you are looking to purchase on line, good old Amazon never fails to pop up
