I always buy my seed potatoes from wilko so much cheaper than anywhere else, luckily this year looks like a bumper crop and there should be plenty for next year's seed.
That's not good news is it, all those lost jobs as well. We don't have a Wilco around here and the only one I used is in Plymouth pre covid whilst visiting my daughter. I liked what I saw though and it filled a gap in the market for low cost everyday things, especially when Homebase disappeared. Bath has always been very poorly served by everyday shops. DIY places and generally useful shops. Too many high end boutique shops and expensive independents but even they are closing here now. Every other shop seems to be a fast food cafe, it's appalling.
I was intending to go to our local one today, but got distracted by the need to do other errands. I may have missed my last chance. I'll drop by tomorrow, and see if they still exist. A real shame if they all go. Not everyone can get to the out of town shopping precincts. We really need our town centre shops. Council taxes have soared, and footfall dropped. So sad.
I went into my local Wilco this afternoon, and it was almost empty of customers, but full of products. It's almost as though people are waiting for there to be a sale - and then they'll strip the place bare!! I feel so sorry for the staff - one of whom thanked me for continuing to support the shop.
I need to go into town tomorrow (library and a bit of shopping needed, parking is better priced on a weekend than on weekdays) so I might pop into Wilko for a look-see. There are a few things on my list that I could get there if they have them in stock. Boyes will get a visit as well because I want a few sewing odds and ends that Wilko don't sell.

Wilco still open for in store collections, not mail order though.
Wish we had one nearer to us.
So sad.
