    Good morning
Lovely photos @Ladybird4. The weather, as you say, was glorious too. Not so glorious here today, though. Rather grey and overcast with rain in the forecast.
Have a good day whatever you plan to do.

    Morning all.
Had a day in Norwich yesterday to visit an exhibition about the wreck of the HMS Gloucester whick sank in 1682 off Gt Yarmouth. Some amazing artefacts on display including very well preserved clothing and some of the largest collection of early wine bottles ever found. Hadn't realised that wine botles as such were not invented until the 1640's. The ship has been described as Norfolk's Mary Rose and the excavation is ongoing.

LB - your pictures are very colouful. Glad you had such good weather (think you picked the right day to go!). The bergamot marmalade sounds intriguing (I love fragrances etc which feature bergamot)

BL - a busy but fun day for you too yesterday.

Rubee - thinking of you and your OH. Hope the clinic is helpful.

Dear Michael Parkinson - I loved his show before it became blatantly part of the promo tour for his guests' latest film / book / show etc. I literally cried with laughter whenever Billy Connolly, Peter Kay or Dame Edna was on - hugely entertaining. I also remember his polite and skillful handling of an exceptionally rude Meg Ryan, and his cringeworthy interview of a very young Helen Mirren. A great Yorkshire man. RIP.

Afties all. Had a solicitors appointment this morning in big town so we had to make our way through rubble, no pavements so  taking risks walking on the edge of roads, flaming taxis whizzing past us with a whisker to spare from hitting us. Ye God. The High Street is slowly vanishing. All getting knocked down to make way for a state of the Art Rural Hub area( what?🙄😬) , what a waste of tax payers money when the roads are in an disgraceful state. It all looks a total tip.
Came out of the solicitors, dazed and glazed over eyes with the amount of money we will need to part with to get some legal stuff sorted out.🤦‍♀️
Busy, I'm pleased to hear your OH has made it safely home and that you all the family had a such a wonderful day.
Rubee, I'm sorry to hear of your Oh's continuing troubles. It must be so horrible for him and you too. Let's hope the clinic can offer him something?

Hazel, your town centre sounds very similar to mine which is why I avoid going there as much as possible.
Guess who left her gardening clogs on the back doorstep and then failed to notice it had begun to rain. That's the second time in as many months I have done that. At least the insides of my clogs are getting washed!
I think its time for a cuppa.
p.s. I meant to say that your post about HMS Gloucester sounds fascinating T'Bird.

LB, it's depressing going into big town now and like you, we don't go there u less absolutely necessary.
How are your many VB's doing now they're all planted out? They will cover a fence in no time at all. We had to take out one of ours as it was massive, too big for the space.

The V.B. have settled in well Hazel. They had been trimmed back by the seller so are quite substantial clumps as opposed to single stems. They should be good to see next year. I noticed a lot of them at the flower show yesterday with many being carried around by buyers.

They do make an impressive display and add such good height and texture to the garden. Glad you enjoyed the Flower Show.
Received some bad news today from brother on a personal level. Consequently, mums stay will probably turn into a permanent stay and so the wheels are set into motion for change again.

Oh my goodness Hazel, I am so sorry to hear that unsettling news about your brother. I hope that your Mum soon settles where she is and as long as you can keep in touch via phone it will help you to settle too.

Thanks LB. I'm trying to set an iPad up for her( for over winter) so we can facetime her which will be nice. She's been moved to a downstairs bedroom, en-suite  now which is better for her. Brother has arranged for continued care at the home.

Having started to feed the birds again, I've just seen a (*#@*#@) mouse , nonchalantly siting on the soil, underneath the bird table, eating all the crumbs that have fallen off.......

Signing off for today. Have a good evening everyone.
