Good evening all. Had a super day at the flower show. I managed to buy a leather back pack, some delicious olives, greetings cards, some bergamot marmalade and a double lemon yellow Leucanthemum called 'Real Goldcup'. I'll post a few pics tomorrow but for this evening I am signing out. I hope that you have all had lovely days.

    Hello all.

I'm glad you enjoyed the flower show, LB, but I thought you would.

I was up at 6.15am, took OH to the airport then went to Son 2's house near Bergerac in time for breakfast. We went out to a restaurant, very nice, sat on the terrace under vines, for lunch with the 5 children. 2 yr. old Charles was a bit noisy but they were pretty well behaved. The Son 2 took the older boys, 6, 8 and 9, to the river Vézère, to go canoeing. DIL and I took the younger two to a sort of adventure park. A lot of it was too much for them but they really enjoyed the bouncy castle. Charles screamed when he was dragged off it! Son 2 and the 3 boys had a great time and swam in the Dordogne river. It was at a pretty village called Limeuil where the Vézère meets the Dordogne. Then back to Son 2's house. It was 30°, I badly needed a cold drink!

Rang OH, he arrived safely and has sent photos of the garden. Thanks for asking, Hazel.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • So pleased that you had a lovely day at the flower show, @Ladybird4
I've not heard of bergamot marmalade. Do let us know what it tastes like. I'm curious.
    Thank you for your posts.

Good morning Ruby, Rosie and all arriving later I was so sorry to read about the pain and discomfort your OH is suffering Ruby. Fingers crossed that he gets some useful help at the clinic today. Rosie - it was a super day, blessed with the weather, so much so that we didn't bother going into too many of the marquees as they were far too warm and felt airless.
Busy, your day yesterday sounds joyous - I bet it was tiring!  Pleased to read that your OH has made it back home safely.
@rowlandscastle444 I had a little taster of the bergamot marmalade at the show and I loved its sourness. I will be able to judge better when I have a proper amount on toast! I'll report back again.
Good morning Happy Friday Have a fabulous and blessed day Happy friday morning Good morning snoopy Good morning happy friday

This gold medal winning garden was designed by the pupils of a local primary school. I was itching to have a go at the hopscotch!

There were a few people on stilts - how they managed that all day I'll never know. It was quite breezy too.
