Got home yesterday after a wonderful weekend in Oxford. It was worth postponing the trip for the slightly cooler weather. We were able to walk into town and stroll round Magdalen College deer park. Short sleeves weather. Too busy chatting to the offspring to take any pictures, but saw some glorious gardens and were wowed by the architecture. Lovely to reminisce about past visits for daughter’s graduation, and also amazing to enjoy the contrast between the calm of the college gardens and cloisters, and the crowds of shoppers and tourists on the streets. We were also taken to Burford for a visit, so quaint and pretty, but almost eclipsed by the nearby Burford Garden Centre! Coffee and cakes were great, but I had to keep my credit card firmly in my pocket in the plant section! So much choice, so many varieties. Didn’t buy anything, but am planning a visit when I win the lottery! Saw some lovely Rosa rugosa, am hoping that at least one of our local centres will stock one. We did the journey home yesterday, with a stop to recharge at the Mall halfway back, missed the heavy rain storm while we were inside having lunch. We are both feeling a bit more confident now about undertaking a four hour drive. Certainly couldn’t contemplate seven hours yet, @Lizzie27! Well done! Hope today goes well, @punkdoc, and all those with aches, pains, and feeling down, enjoy some respite and improvement.
Just heard that 17 yr old grandson has "mention très bien" for his baccalaurèat, equivalent to 3 grade As at A level. He'll be going to Poitiers University.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
You have a new "neighbour" @Pat E with her/his proteas! Looks like the OP lives in a beautiful spot in Australia. Whales, seals, penguins etc....
A wave to our American friends for today - Independence Day.
A Bobby Dazzler today with high temperatures but respite with a sea breeze. Out early this morning with the dog (on bike). Came back and weed sprayed the gravel growth. Down to Aldi for a few provisions and home. It was already hot at 8am!!
Here is a site for guided meditation with a body scan. It may help. I'm going to have a look at the sites you have suggested - thank you very much! @AuntyRach and @Dovefromabove
After a bad night went swimming at pool opening time and feel better for it. Good luck @punkdoc today. Félicitations to @Busy-Lizzie grandson. Do post some pics @Latimer. I wish you all a good day.
Glad the early morning swim made you feel better @coccinella. We need to have a grown-up conversation about euthanasia in this country. How many of us dread reaching an old age where we can no longer fend for ourselves or even comprehend what is happening? DNIs are just not enough.
Have fun at Hampton Court @Latimer and hope your journey there goes smoothly @Busy-Lizzie. And yes - a very good sign that C. can do things on his own now!
Hope @punkdoc is able to have his treatment today without any hitches.
Yes, wall to wall tennis on TV at the moment. It's not often I get involved in it but as @Dovefromabove enjoys it so much, I don't mind. There's always Netflix.
Nice drop of rain yesterday but still not enough for my dry sandy soil. I shall still have to spot water the prima donnas.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Have a good day @Latimer. We are going tomorrow.
Sun is shining, so far. Box hedge needs trimming.
OH is going to physio at the hospital. I'm not going with him. Says he can manage, shows how much he has improved.
The Tour de France will be going through my local town, close to my French house, but we won't be there.
