Sorry I didn't respond earlier @Dovefromabove, I fell asleep again in the chair, think the codeine/paras knocked me out. Had a good few hours until OH woke me at 9 am with another cup of tea. Anybody know if you can buy codeine across the counter, I'm nearly out? Son's just had a quick breakfast and has rushed out to meet another mate from college days for a round of golf. They don't get to meet up very often so I'm pleased they can get together.
That sounds a nightmare @Busy-Lizzie, I bet you were rather frazzled. Is he a hyper-active child? Talking of which, I've just completed a rather odd, 30 minute survey for the UK Biobank on hyper-activity traits in adults. I dislike these type of questionnaires where you can't qualify the answer as it skews the results but feel duty bound to complete them.
Beautiful cat @plant pauper, very much like our beloved pet.
Bet the ratatouille smells delicious @tui34 , even though it's not my favourite dish.
I'd better get washed and dressed! The morning's half gone!
You can get cocadamol over the counter @Lizzie27 and one branded one is stronger than the Boots own, but I'm afraid I can't remember the name. But do try and keep them to the bare minimum - I think it can be quite easy to OD on paracetamol.
Just waiting for daughter to arrive so we can drag out on old gazebo that needs new struts putting in it. I have the struts and I have someone to put them in, so my job is merely to get it out from under the junk in the outhouse and get it to him!
Now longing for the Festival to be over so I can get some peaceful gardening done. Plants don't have egos and I don't have to appease the weeds!
@Lizzie27 OH says you can buy Cocodamol from pharmacies. He had a prescription for a max of 8 tablets taken 4 times a day after his hip op. Codeine can be addictive and causes constipation. Paracetamol is safer, not as strong but can be dangerous if taken in large quantities.
I think you could be right about my grandson. 13 yr old granddaughter slept until 11.30am because of his night time activity.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thank you @Lizzie27. I was never a cat person (for that read anti-cat!) until I rescued three feral kittens nearly three years ago. Go big or go home eh? I am smitten. Just after I posted his pic he got stung by a wasp after he caught it. He's not like the others! He's giant and also a little bit nuts! 🤣😍
@Lizzie27 you can only buy the low strength codeine and paracetamol mix (8/500 co-codamol) over the counter, not codeine on its own. Codeine prescriptions usually comes as 30mg (or 2x 30mg), so much stronger - you’ll need from GP.
Just to be clear for anyone reading: co-codamol contains paracetamol so you don’t take any more paracetamol with those as you can only have 4 doses of paracetamol per 24 hours. (Sorry if you all already know all that but nurse brain never off duty!)
Thanks folks for the codeine advice. I was given codeine tabs on prescription in A & E and told to take them together with paracetamol every 4-6 hours as required for pain relief. No more than 8 in 24 hrs for codeine and 6 in 24 hrs for paras. Also got morphine 4 x daily (low dose) if pain gets really bad which I'm trying not to take too often. Just requested repeat codeine from GP as running out and pain still bad. Very aware and being very cautious about overdosing but medics were adamant that it was better to keep pain under control so I could keep moving. Hopefully I can start tailing off next week. Got a big box of prescribed laxatives!
Do hope your wife sees physio tomorrow @KT53, and that your floor dries out before she comes home! I bet you get another phone call from wife saying she's had physio, got crutches and can you come and get her!
Evening everyone, got to the plots today as we ended up having to drain one of the waterbuts yesterday because it has spung a leak. So all this lovely rain is escaping down the drain! Oh well. @Lizzie27, so far as I know codine is metabolised to morphine in the body, but obviously the extra step means it's slower to act and not as strong. So I would use the morphine if you have to as you have taken it already, though indirectly, if you see what I mean. @punkdoc can confirm if I am correct.
Morning everyone, my turn for a bad night last night, no idea why. Managed to knock my water glass over in the early hours and I wasn't even reaching for it it. Yoga tonight hopefully I will sleep properly afterwards I usually do.

Sunny and bright again today with high temperatures this afternoon. Good holiday weather for beach goers.
I don't think there are many people called Ignace, but if there is, today is your day!
Au jour de Saint Ignace, moissonne quelque temps qu'il fasse
Enjoy your day.
