A few figs and 3 green gages. There were probably more gages, but I missed them. This is its first year fruiting; it was planted in 2017.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

  • Onions ready for storing and a couple of sweetcorn for lunch
  • Oh dear!
Yorkshire, ex Italy and North East coast. Growing too old for it!
  • Oh @Pete.8 I know you like to get your moneys worth....... shall we just put it down to the weather! 😆

    Absolutely! 🤣
It has nothing to do with me  -they were hiding deliberately!!

    Billericay - Essex

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
  • Just found a Cobra bean - almost as tall as me - it wasn't there yesterday  ;)

On a slightly different note, I have a large dustbin sized container in which I've been growing Purple climbing beans.  I'm also growing Oregon Sugar Pod peas in a raised bed some 30 feet away. One of the bean plants has suddenly produced a bunch of purple Sugar Pod peas at the base whilst higher up, the normal beans continue to grow.  The oddities are sadly not that good - they have the "snap" trait but a slightly furry skin and taste quite bitter. Not a hybrid worth crowing about  :(
  • Butternut squash are ripening with the help of autumn sun. Still picking Cobra beans and courgettes.
  • Picked a load of Cobra beans yesterday which surprised us as we thought they had finished. More flowers on there, so will keep checking. But the "Lady Di" surpass them with over 1kg yesterday and many more to come.
