That's good news LB, I do hope your brother is allowed to return home, he will feel " better" being at home and he can then recover at his own pace. I hope you manage to calm that active mind of yours tonight and get a better sleep. You will feel better for it.

Evening all, so many poorly people.  Hugs to you all.  Thinking of you too SGL.
I've been with Jonah all day today as he had a sickness bug and school like them to stay off for 24hrs after recovery.  He was full of beans.  We went to the park and had a lovely cake smoothy/coffee whilst watching the baby ducklings swimming across the lake.
We watched David Attenborough this afternoon and then picked Gabriel up from pre school.  The seeds we planted together have started to grow and they have some strawberries growing on the plants so they were very excited.
Tired this evening but it has been a nice day.
Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Thank you LB.  Gosh LB that was a quick discharge after his op.  Better to see him in his own home though.  After hospital, once home, you seem to have more of an idea how you feel.  Although it may help to stimulate while his brain is healing.  Dad is still waiting for a bed but he’s had a sandwich and tea and they have taken some swabs so have cultures and given him some liquid morphine.  We are all missing him.  Night night all.

Rosie, hope the liquid morphine eases dads pain, should do. Also, let's keep fingers crossed that he is found a bed soon too, situation is dire in hospitals regarding beds. Try and get a decent sleep. Night night.
Yvie, you've had a busy day but ai hope Jonah is fully recovered now, must be if he's full of energy! Have  a relax this evening.
Im signing out for today. Night all.

Good evening all. I didn't get time to post this morning.

I feel for you @star gaze lily, I remember when 1st OH died, but it was a long time ago now. The first year with all the anniversaries is the worst, when you've got through that it gets easier. Life continues with children and grandchildren, a part of both of you is in them.

I hope Rubee's OH is helped by the liquid morphine. It was a great help to my OH after his hip replacement.

It was the walker's club 5 1/2 km walk this morning in some lovely countryside. I had been a bit worried about my knee but it was fine. After the walk we went to a local restaurant for lunch. That took 2 1/2 hours. The food was good. I met some new people, and some who I knew already. I'll put some photos on the World Wide Walks thread.

When I got home I had a coffee with OH then finished weeding the raspberries. I fed them and gave them a good soak. I'll mulch them tomorrow. It was a lovely sunny day. I watered the rest of the veg garden and some of the beds because of the new young plants. The spinach, sweet corn and purple sprouting broccoli are coming up.

A very good morning Rosie. I hope you managed to finally get to sleep. I am sure you are missing your Dad but hopefully they will find the liquid morphine helping with his pain control so he can come home. I cannot even imagine how dreadful a permanent pain must be - I know how wretched I felt through the 4 weeks of struggling with my back. I hope that you and Ruby get some positive news today.
Yvie, I did smile reading about your little live wire Jonah. All that energy is amazing and don't small people just give you a permanent smile when they are happily engaged in activities. Hazel will be getting herself ready for 23's stop over this weekend.
Busy, you sound to have a had a super day and it must have been very reassuring that your knee held out for your walk. Will you manage to make the most of your food crops before you travel back to your home here - I think I remember you saying that you were due back next month but I may have got that wrong. My sister and BIL are due back from La Londe on Bank Holiday Monday.

Good morning all. I foolishly offered to do extra hours today as we are so busy so not looking forward to that.
@star gaze lily hope happy memories ease the pain you are feeling and life gets better every day. I think you just have to take each day as it comes and take care of yourself.
@Ladybird4 pleased to hear your brother will be coming home hospitals are not nice are they? Although necessary sometimes.
Rosie fingers crossed that your Dad gets the medical attention he needs and he too can soon come home.
@Yviestevie nothing like a day spent with grandchildren is there?
Hope you all have a good day and can get into the garden, a day like this makes me long for retirement but that’s a few years away yet.

Good morning Rosie, LB, debs and all to follow.

Rosie, hope your Dad will be better and that he will soon be home.

Debs, have a easy and peaceful days at work.

LB, I'm glad that your brother will come home from hospital.

Warm and windy morning. I'll take another afternoon for rest and weekend is for finishing planting and sowing. Rain is forecasted for next week so I must finish all before that. Few more minutes and must dash.

Have a nice day and see you all later.
