This is my daughters Montana
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I had the obelisks made last year, after visiting a few small steelworks I found one that was happy to knock them up from a drawing and measurements I gave them, and I said I wanted them to rust..
This one I've left unplanted to grow some sweet peas up that I'm growing in the greenhouse..
And this is the one with Amber planted underneath..
For several years now I have had a summer flowering clematis growing up what was the trunk of an old cherry tree which is about 10 ft high. Usually it reaches the top by mid summer and is covered in purple flowers. This year it’s gone mad and already at the top of the tree.
is it OK to nip out some of the growth tips to make it more bushy and keep it to the hight it is
@melvynp Yes you can pinch out the tips, I do it all the time with those types.. you can pinch out more than once as it grows too, in order to keep it more compact, yet floriferous..
