    Very nice indeed, fun to get something custom made like that.. I prefer the box shape to the round obelisks, although I've got both.

    You have an attractive greenhouse too..

    For several years now I have had a summer flowering clematis growing up what was the trunk of an old cherry tree which is about 10 ft high. Usually it reaches the top by mid summer and is covered in purple flowers. This year it’s gone mad and already at the top of the tree.

    is it OK to nip out some of the growth tips to make it more bushy and keep it to the hight it is

    Yes you can pinch out the tips, I do it all the time with those types.. you can pinch out  more than once as it grows too, in order to keep it more compact, yet floriferous..
