    Such lovely clematis contributions, some I've not heard of before, so it's always good to know these..

    Your red clematis is gorgeous but I'm doubting it's 'Niobe'.. which is a more velvety red and I've not seen those white markings... do you think you might mean 'Nubia' instead?  it looks more like 'Nubia' to me.. which is a short clematis and won't get very tall..

    I have to agree, it looks the same. I shall call it Nubia from now on (good luck to me, the names are so similar!). Thank you, @Marlorena and @purplerallim. I shall not have ‘hight’ expectations from it anymore.
