I met my first boyfriend at a Friday night dance in the church hall when he asked me to dance to Proud Mary.  1968/69.

I've been in London working for a few days. I would say it sounds like you've all been busy, but actually I think mostly it's Wonky who's been busy  :) Birthday wishes to all that I've missed  :)

    Good evening all,
    hope you’ve enjoyed your birthday @punkdoc. 🎉
Glad you’ve had a relaxing few days away @Dovefromabove
That’s sad news - I liked Tina Turner. OH and I went to a concert quite a number of years ago now, and her energy was amazing. She gave a brilliant performance.

That is such a shame, I really loved her songs, a brilliant artist.

Thanks @raisingirl.  The stray cat Hobo missed me, the others you wouldn't notice!

    Hi all

Quiet but nice day yesterday, went to admire some of the local Hawthorn and Cow Parsley.
Moira has flown up to Scotland today to see her Mum.
@tui34, l loved your Tlna Turner story, music is so important in our back stories.

    River Deep, Mountain High.

One of my all time faves.
    Ditto.
It's credited to Ike and Tina Turner, but I heard that Ike turned up so drunk, Phil Spector banned him from the studio, so he's not actually on the recording.
No idea if it's a true story.
I remember an interview when she was talking about a spat with Madonna at a gig they were both doing.
Photos had appeared of Madonna when she was young and Tina was taking the P.
Madonna said " it's what you do when you're 16"
Tina replied. " When I was 16, I was still picking cotton "

Today we have a little mystery.
Mr and Mrs Canada Geese have all of their 8 babies after 4 weeks.
This morning another adult pair have appeared with 1 baby, about a week or two old. The baby isn't old enough to fly, so how did the 3 of them get here?
Could one of the adults pick it up and fly with it?

Ducks and geese will walk their offspring a very long way indeed to get to water. Ripe pickings for magpies with nestlings to feed. There may well have been more than one gosling when they set out …
