You’ll be glad of all that firewood @Pat E 👍 Another beautiful bright morning full of birdsong here in Norfolk … I was awake in the middle of the night listen to a tawny owl hoo-hoo-hooing nearby for over an hour 🦉
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beautiful morning here too @Dovefromabove - we are having warm temperatures and it seems that it is again affecting the vegetable gardens again this year. Small seedlings and slow to take once in the ground. Second sowings because first ones didn't germinate.
A coffee in the promenade is on the cards this morning as there is a festival of comic illustrators this long weekend.
Today: Soleil de Saint Germain, nous promet du bon vin!!
I hope the day is sunny for you for as they say here: A day without sun, is a day without wine.
Had a wonderful (much needed) day with Charlie yesterday. Followed the 8km treasure hunt through beautiful countryside, had a fabulous lunch and then explored the ruins of a Château. Wonderful time. Now focused on Tuesday's meeting.
Morning folks. I had a few hours pain free yesterday afternoon,oh joy! Sat in the garden (only, you understand for essential vit D) started making cushions for our new dining chairs and bench. Coccinella, yes,it is rare. The menestery is the yellow fat layer, surrounding abdominal organs. It's inflammation of this. Dr thinks it was probably caused by the multiple surgeries I have had. This is the longest, most painful flare-up I have had. Because it surrounds bowel and bladder,it "upsets" them, I can't go anywhere (for obvious reasons) a lot of time I am just laying on the sofa.It can be auto immune (I was diagnosed with 2 auto immune things last year) there is no cure, some people get no symptoms. Analgesics don't appear to work. The Dr is more worried about the growth on the adrenal gland,am being "fast tracked" for that.
Sorry to hear of your abdominal pains and worries @Nanny Beach. Not at all fun for you and I hope the adrenal gland issue can be diagnosed and sorted sooner rather than later.
It was quite for us at our Saturday market yesterday. Nice to spend the day in the sunshine but not many customers. We think the beer & music Festival down the road and a food & drink fair in the next town didn't help. Sold a bit of my wool stock but £100 down on what I sold the first time I did it. The wool is now stored away until I do another of these at the end of the season.
And now I must get ready for clay club! Hopefully the things I did last week have now been bisque fired and I can work on glazing them.
Hello diddyw, can I join you for the clay club. Dr warned me about the diagnosis, I never thought to ask how big it was. To be honest, after all the problems and pain,I had resigned myself to thinking some sort of tumour, just not there. By all accounts, these are usually found while scanning for other issues. Ironically,no symptoms from that, and I would never have known about it.There's a garden open for our local hospice, not far away, only today. Am determined to "use the toilet" and go there!!
We are at Son 2's looking after 5 small ones. I had to go out earlier to the SM, no bread, no fresh milk, nothing suitable for OH's main meal in the fridge, still has stitches in his gums from his new implants. Their childminders were here before us. Changed little Charles's pooey nappy. Took me all morning to do breakfast, toast and boiled eggs, bottle for Charles, clear up the mess in the kitchen and dress the 2 smallest. It is pretty noisy, 4 boys, 1 girl. They are my grandchildren, love them all but I realise I'm not young any more!
Just repeated it all with lunch. It is very warm, 30C. I slept very badly, not my pillow and too hot.
Son and DIL will be back from Venice this evening.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Putting my feet up just before the street's do starts. We have to wait for one of the houses to cast a shade on the road as it 8s quite warm. It sounds very uncomfortable @Nanny Beach hope this "flare" subsides soon and that you get the extra tests to complete the diagnosis. Once they saw something on my kidney, but on second inspection it was no longer there. Gosh @Busy-Lizzie! 5 kids, I will hear the sighs of relief from here when mum and dad turn up! 😄
God afternoon everyone, no long back from plots and had a very late lunch. I know what you are thinking, he's supposed to be injured, well I am but interestingly, my foot, was less swollen and blue after being in my gardening boots for 5 hours. So much to do , some stuff has just had to go out straight from the GH, no lengthy hardening off. Its got two chances, as my father always said, it can either grow or do the other thing. I re-sowed peas again as I only got about 3 plants, from the first two sowings. Typically I think the first lot of strawberries will ripen while we are away.

@Busy-Lizzie, I'm sure your grandchildren would love the Terra Aventura trails. We got a badge at the end, we were so excited, I'm sure younger children would love it too.

Worrying news about Waitrose and others. Odd times.
A couple of pics from yesterday, glorious day too.
