Oh dear @AnnaB, hope a rest today does you good and that you feel better tomorrow. I want to get going and put back all the 'stuff' behind the shed today but just having a coffee to perk me up!
It's just occurred to me, you can't possibly get a sore throat from inhaling 'nasty' dust' - can you? Sunday afternoon on a whim I decided to cut back the top branches of a diseased (box moth caterpiller) box bush which was a horrible task. Although I put goggles on to protect my eyes, I never thought about wearing a mask against the dust, dessicated leaves and frass coming down above my head. I used secateurs as well so got quite close. Sunday evening, my throat felt rather dry and by 3 am was a raging sore throat. Coincidence?
Morning all, I suppose it’s possible, @Lizzie27. The dust, etc has probably irritated your throat lining. Perhaps plenty of sips of water might ease it?
I’ve been in the gardening potting up more dahlias but I’ve had to stop as I’ve run out of compost for the remaining 3, so another trip to the GC beckons once the service engineer has been. I hope all of you with poorly tums soon feel better. Feet up, rest, if you can.
Dreary and cold here, so took the opportunity for a rare trip into the city to buy some books. I know I don't go in often, but every time I do the road layout has changed, very confusing.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Afternoon, fellow forkers. We did manage to go to the garden open for charity on Sunday (toilet in the garden!) It was Sunniva Harte's garden. Thank you for all the good wishes. The gut problem I have could be caused by my auto immune system, which would be ironic,as I said on here recently, I haven't had a cold/cough (Covid, symptoms or positive test) for over 15 years!! Wishing everyone else well.
As the weather is hotting up, I started to walk mornings as afternoons too hot and I just want to water my garden evenings and chill.
Took a path that is grassy and a little overgrown but had to turn back because there was a very fat brown snake (Couleuvre de Montpellier I think) lying across it. Shite!! A long black stripe down its back. It didn't move so maybe was digesting breakfast!! Will take my phone tomorrow for a photo!!
@Lizzie27, OH is just getting over his cough, two weeks now. It was combined with hay fever - he is allergic to the Scots Pine pollen, several trees in our garden- but it all really kicked off when he cut the grass, strimmed the edges and corralled the pine needles with the blower. Not a good idea. And no, he wasn’t wearing a mask, which he should have done.
Oh gosh, I've got 2 pines and I've been strimming. Have 2 lime trees, they are good for pollen too. Better start taking my one a day hay fever pills.
I had my 5th Covid jab today. I had to do a test at home first as I have a bit of a cold, negative.
Been quite busy with this and that, washing, taking bins to the big bins up the road, no home collection here, did some weeding, strimming and edging this afternoon. I rang NDN, S, in Norfolk to find out how other NDN is. She's out of hospital and has carers twice a day. They've given her a walking frame, but it won't fit in the passage to her utility room so S is doing her washing and shopping. I'll help when we go back.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
