How do you feel about the coronation?

From what I read here it seems that very few people were taught anything about how the UK constitution works when they were at school.
I don't think you were taught about the difference between the English and Scottish constitution. The English king is king of England. The Scottish king is king of Scots. We can remove him if we choose to do so.  A major difference.
Don't forget that it was originally a king of Scotland (James VI) who came and brought the entire group of nations under one monarch, and therefore there is no "king of England" or "king of Scotland", but rather one monarch of the whole of the UK. Thus the Scottish people cannot remove the monarch.

I think they used to say that about the French

Perhaps I ought to have added
"but leave the king of England"

There is no such thing as the kingdom of the UK.
They're is a King of Scots, and the King of England. James the VI became king of both, but they were different crowns.

I went to a Catholic school in Scotland. I was taught as much about the monarchy as I was about sex education. ZERO

When I'm in charge I'm going to outlaw all religious schools and all private schools.  They're both at the root of much of the trouble in the UK for many years.

Mind you, sex education at my all girls grammar involved drawing diagrams of the internal workings of frogs!  Some girls were very confused ...

Thankfully I grew up on a farm where the main topic of conversation over the dinner table was the oestrus cycle of various sows and the effectiveness of certain boars ... and we had pet rabbits which we bred to provide 'table rabbits' ... I had a pretty good idea of things by the time I needed to know, if not before.

All those tiny plastic flags, string, plastic partyware, balloons etc etc, all going to landfill.. or hedges, or water, or fields... utterly contemptible and for what reason?
The last Union Flag I bought was made in Chatham Dockyard, by British people, putting the cash back into the economy. I keep my flags for years. The last flag I had that was made overseas, was a Hong Kong flag.
I understand what you are saying, but don't most of us buy things from abroad - or at least have done over the years, and ended up throwing them away?
What we need is recyclable items - or keep them for ages. I still have my flags, but am guilty of buying other stuff, including items made in China.
Good on you, old school attitudes are few and far between now aren't they? Maybe not in the people here because from what I gather, most of us are the mend it/recycle it/reuse it type, but even in our village there are yards of plastic flags hung on plastic strings at every opportunity. 😢 Someone usually knits something for grand occasions, so I fully expect to see a wooly Charlie on the bench soon. 😄

I go out, and when I get back, I find my wife has started to decorate the house - with plastic flags!!

I have to retract my comments - I've now paid for these, apparently!!
