Waste of money . Shrug shoulders
I moving from 'shrug' to 'getting really bored of it now' and there's still a week to go  :/ Doubtless we'll get a week's worth of reruns after it as well

It rained where we were for the queens coronation,  nice morning but wet in the afternoon,  we had our street party in the church hall.
I must admit I wasn't around for that, but remember clearly our street party for the Silver Jubilee. It rained then too!!
We were on holiday for the silver jubilee but joined in someone’s street party,  the children enjoyed it, on the night we went up Dunkery Beacon.

history is made every single day.
I have no intention of watching any of it.
I heard today that the estimated cost is £250,000,000.

Holy crap! Would that be our tax, or is it perfectly alright because 'tourism'?
  • Excited. Can't wait
A lot of cash but if that’s what it costs then that’s what it costs.  A quarter of a billion well spent in my view.

That's a bargain in my opinion. I have no issue with the cost. We spend so much on MPs, and would still do so if we had a president rather than a monarch - and that changing every 4 or 5 years, would be costly. The previous coronation was in 1953.

A populist president might be even more expensive … https://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-baseless-election-fraud-claim-cost-taxpayers-over-519-million-2021-2?r=US&IR=T

and that’s without reckoning up the lives list.

In theory I’m a lifelong republican (note the lower case ‘r’) but the more I’ve seen of human nature the more I think ‘better the devil we know’.  🙄
