How many months is it now since you made the offer @D0rdogne_Damsel? My move, from when the people made the offer for my house to moving in to my new house took 6 months. It's a very stressful time. I lost 6 kilos, wish I hadn't put them all back on again!

We enjoyed lunch with our friends and we met another couple who we liked.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • And, gosh mind overload.... The garden is full of shrubs and trees, all lovely, but I'd love a little flower bed, maybe an Island bed, or as @Busy-Lizzie calls it, a jewel bed, just big enough for me to manage with an hour's work pottering before or after work.

  • Sorry, I'm way ahead of myself, haven't got the keys yet...but enjoying thinking about it.

Charlie back in Rome, off to the Coliseum tomorrow, over 50€ for a ticket, apparently all the tour guides buy them up and re-sell, glossed up as a tour. If they'd known they could have bought them in advance (3 months ago) for 16€. A shame to feel like you've been ripped off.

Good evening all,  hope all ails are improving.  We had a day out today after a heavy day at the plots yesterday.  We went to Canons Ashby in Northampton,  more or less straight up the M1 for us. Lovely bright day but cold wind. Interesting Tudor house and gardens.
@D0rdogne_Damsel they had tulips in borders near the house all mixed types rather than one sort or single colour, it looked very effective,  not sure how well it would look in a pot, more research needed,  where can we visit next? 😀
Capel Manor college tomorrow.  Regards to all.

I’d echo @Allotment Boy and go for mixed too …… however, we are having a family visit to Pashley Manor tulip festival this weekend, so I might feel differently after that …. Watch this space……🌷🌷🌷
  • I like one colour pots but walked past a garden with a big pot of mixed, tonal, tulips and they were stunning. It surprised me.

    Morning Forkers

@D0rdogne_Damsel I am keeping fingers crossed for you. All the best.

I repotted the red chards yesterday, I made six pots out of the one I bought! Let's hope it works, I do this trick with basil. I am going to the local veggie market this morning, I will have to wear a jacket, it is still chilly. Aqua gym this afternoon after two weeks' brake, the pool we use is the school's pool, every time they shut so must we pensioners.
Have a lovely time in your gardens today if you intend to be there, if not have a good time wherever.  :)

Morning everyone. My thoughts and prayers are will all those having problems or difficulties with their health. I think we could all do with a good dose of summer sunshine to uplift our spirits a bit.
My daughter phoned me earlier this morning from work to say that her wonderful boss has given her 6 months off work. 'Sco will do this for you if really needed, keeping your job open for the 6 months - she has been with them for ten years. She still keeps all her 'perks' for shopping there but of course does not get paid. We had done all our sums and decided that with care we can manage our finances and daughter really desperately needs the break as she is very stressed with all that she is trying to do over at her ex' as he just doesnt seem to be able to get himself together after the death of his brother before last Christmas, and there is so much work to do here as we try to clear up the place. All physical work for her - her work at 'sco is also physical - and she is really suffering with one of her hips - she's in her mid 50's, could she need a hip replacement at her age? I'm really no longer any help to her any more sadly, so we are both hoping that this time off will give us a chance to get things steadily done and back in order before next winter sets in.
Hope your son enjoys his visitors today together with the Star Wars gang Dove.
