Hi Yvie. How are your art classes going? I know that this is something both you and Ruby are interested in. (There may be others I don't know about.) My Bestie's OH was interested in painting and he did dozens. Bestie gave me a pick of his artwork after he passed away and I chose this one of a brooding lighthouse during a storm because it really appealed to me.

Had rather a bad hailstorm earlier on, following the thunder and lightening. The poor garden is flooded out, even one big bin I use as a water butt, overflowed! Big puddles left at edges of borders and our patio was a float😱
Now having a bit of a re think due to the continuous raining,if it's not excessive heat, it's endless raining.
LB, how is Jack doing? Did he like getting Ā some tomato plants? We took mum a tomato plant last year, but she didn't do anything with it, think she's past bothering with that now.šŸ˜•
Yvie, good to hear you've kept up with the painting classes. You'll be having an exhibition at this rate!Ā
LB, that's a lovely emotive picture from besties OH. Safe journey tomorrow and enjoy yourself....weather permitting. We've got more of the same here, tomorrow😬
  • LB as Hazel says a lovely atmospheric artwork. Ā Hazel gosh it was really chucking it down where you are. Ā I’ve just woken up and feel better for a rest. Ā Hope the effects will soon wear off. Ā  Haven’t heard about an uptodate jab here yet. Ā  Wishing you a good journey. Ā Time for tea.

Rosie, the garden looks a tip now and I'm quite disheartened about it, irrationally. It's been slug heaven out there tonight so plenty have gone to their version of slug heaven. My Apple Crisp Ā Heuchera was decimated ( luckily we have another one) so have potted it up but it does look dreadful. I even found some slugs making their up two Delphiniums, I've never seen them on there before.
Im signing out for tonight. Hope everyone has a decent night, in particular @Rubee 'sĀ OH.
  • Hazel what a great shame after you and oh hard work. Ā I wonder if there’s a natural product you can use to deter the slugs.

Morning all, just had a lovely cup of tea and washed and dressed. Ā Hopefully good weather today.Ā
  • Hazel had a look for you and found that sage, rosemary, parsley and thyme can deter slugs and snails and can be planted around vulnerable plants and in the borders. Ā  Hope this helps. Ā Rosie

Good morning everyone . I haven’t read back . OH is not good .He is going to the dressings clinic this afternoon . District nurse has arranged for nurses to come to our home Mondays and Fridays with the visit to the dressings clinic on Wednesdays as usual.
I hope those who are not well are feeling brighter . Thinking of you Lily .
I have managed some gardening . It’s an absolute joy to be outside .OH has ordered some peonies, they are coming today . Take care folks.

    Morning all.
Thank you so much for that research Rosie, I do appreciate it. We are off to the famous DIY store this morning so will look out for some of those plants. I will try planting one near the Heuchera. I think parsley would look appropriate and will fit in with the corner border planting.
Rubee, I am sorry to hear your OH is not good,I wish there was something that would at least ease your OH's problems. Thinking of you both, it can't be easy.
I feel quite slugish this morning but plenty to do today in preparation of new windows coming tomorrow.
