It's been a lovely sunny day today, but chilly.
I planted the new rose and spent a lot of the afternoon cutting up the dead Malvern Hills so we can take it to the tip.

Busy, I had a look at that rambling rose you bought - it is a stunner. Are you intending growing it through or over something? I see it can get quite tall.
SGL, finding our room and the floor we were on certainly produce some giggles from my sis and I.
I am signing out for tonight as it is quiz night again. I hope that you all have great evenings - especially Ante - and that our travelling friends are safe on their journeys. See you all in the morning.

The rose is to go over a tall wooden rose arch which is next to an arbour seat then a wall, so it can go over all that as the old Malvern Hills did.

Evening all, Spent a few hours in the garden today mowing/edging lawns, moving pots and fed/mulched the roses.Β  Lugging pots and bags of compost/manure has taken its toll and I'm now aching and tired.Β  Hoping to get seeds sown tomorrow.Β Β

@Busy-Lizzie I've been looking for that rose for a few years, none of our Garden Centres ever have it. I've seen it on line, but have only ever sent for roses from David Austin.Β Β

@star gaze lily Chevy Chase was discovered by Peter Beales on a trip to America and he liked it so much he got permission to bring it back to Norfolk where he bred it for the UK market. It may be that you can only get it from Peter Beales. It's available from them now, mail order, quite pricey at Β£29.95.

Sunny and very cold morning. It's only 2℃. I slept well and feel much better.

Ante, I hope you are feeling better this morning and can face the day whatever it throws at you.
Busy, your rose will look amazing once it gets going - such a vibrant red!
Yvie, sterling work done there. I was hoping to do similar today but I may be restricted to seed sowing inside.

Goodness me but I've just watched a chilling clip of that murderer who shot those 9 innocents at the school in America. Totally horrendous. We should consider ourselves lucky.

Good morning all. Cold here but I have a haircut booked and then we are going to take Easter goodies to fiancΓ©s family in Telford ( get that box ticked then we can leave it a few weeks, with fiancΓ© only home two days and me working Monday afternoon time together is precious) so no gardening today.Β
I do love a really red rose @Busy-Lizzie
