Morning all. Well, we've been well and truly duped by son this April  Fools day😬😬 Text received from him advising us that a wheel had come off his car on his way to work first thing ( how on earth had that happened?🤷‍♀️ )but it was all good now. ( As our grand daughter has a birthday today I tend to associate this day with her and the birthday, NOT the April fool, so had completely forgotten about it🙇‍♀️🤦‍♀️). For a moment there we were a bit worried......
Looks like it's rained again overnight, everywhere is soaking. We're waiting on a few deliveries today so a nice easy day at home is called for. However, I do have to pop to local 'esc* sometime, to swap a top I bought there the other day.
    Wonder if @Topbird is okay?🧐

     * Just found the message below which I failed to post!*
"Still early yet Biglad so I reckon it could improve where I am. I will go armed with umbrella into town though.
Morning Rosie and Ruby. Rosie, I have got all my ammunition including screen shots to make sure they match exactly what I intend paying 🤞🏻I'll let you know later!
Ruby, I too remember the spaghetti trees - what a hoot that was!"
    What a twonk!
Back from town now with mission accomplished. Monthly DD now reduced to single figure which is exactly what I wanted.
I didn't take an umbrella as it seemed very nice - it was, but still a bit on the nippy side.
Oh Hazel, your son is a rascal! Good job he let you know that all was fine otherwise you would have been shooting out to rescue him. For your granddaughter:

Oh my goodness Busy, that is an enormous target to reach so every effort will be gratefully accepted. Hope all goes well today.
Hope that you have a good day too Red maple.

Great news you’ve got a really reasonable new contract LB! Good battling😀
I’ve just inspected two dahlias I’ve had ready and one is completely rotten- all mushy. Other one is fine so have potted it up again so fingers crossed it’ll be ok. Sunlowers will be done tomorrow as it’s drizzly rain and cold outside now.

It's getting murkier and there is moisture in the air but I've got another 250 election cards delivered this afternoon in about 75 mins. I'm going to prepare another round but will leave it until tomorrow if Marti arrives.

Afternoon all,  Busy couple of days.  Nanna duty Thurs and Friday afternoon.  The boys are very excited at having broken up from school/nursery.  I've booked train tickets to London for Tuesday and reserved tickets for the Natural History Museum so they can see the dinosaurs.  Also planning to do the open topped bus tour if weather permits.  Firstborn and family are down in Cornwall this week but it didn't stop Merri phoning me up to tell me they were in a spot of bother as someone had stolen their car and would I drive down at the end of the week to pick them up.  They had me for a split second then I realised the date.  I could just hear the smile in her voice.
Have been to the garden centre this morning to pick up 8 large pieces of welsh slate for round the pond.  Neck and shoulders are aching at the moment so nothing else planned for today.  Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Good afternoon all. Yvie, it seems as if the 'car' was the theme for both your's and Hazel's April Fool tricks today. I managed to escape any pranksters. I hope you haven't overdone the carrying of the slate! Sounds a lovely surround for a pond and it will look especially nice when its wet.
How exciting for the boys to see the dinosaurs. Fingers crossed for kind weather.
@Biglad, well done on your postie duties - only 1750 to go! I am signing out for today - got some boring HW to do after I've watched the Rugby. See you all in the morning.

Biglad, you're doing well with the card drop, our weather has been the same. Very cold too.
Yvie, your day excursion sounds lovely and Im not surprised the boys are excited. What a lovely day out you will all have, hope the weather cheers up a bit.

    Good evening my friends.

I wasn't around last few days, but I had a busy week. Weather didn't help either. It was raining every day till today, and tomorrow will again, with wind of course. I didn't catch all news here, and tomorrow will have time to do that.

Hazel, hope your Mum is well. Have a nice time with her. I really respect her age.😊
